Ignorance

"Ignorance"

The wind turns the page
As the trees dance to its playful tune
My breath shines in front of me, frozen in time,
As I stare at the skeleton tree
Underneath the cool whip sky

We are just moments in the world
Speckles of dust, sprinkled throughout her lifetime
The dinosaurs came, then man
Next may be the Walawoomp
Who knows when it will change

A leaf flirts with my foot
The tree calls to me
She does not want to be forgotten
She has stood the test of time
Longer then any man, longer then any animal

The wind whispers in my ear
A crow flaps by my head
As all the people continue on their way
Silly people
You think you can live forever.
