Standing On Starboards Edge

I stand on the starboard
Clutching at the pole
Praying for my transgression
From this inconceivable and
Unforeseen delirium

I look to the sky and
Clutch at the ground
All she can do is smile
Back at me like a clown
To a turtle on his last day

I scream towards the distance
But the winds throw it back at me
Mocking every effort for salvation

Faith in the unfaithful
Led me to the dark center of the lagoon
I held my breath and let it swallow me whole
