Sunspots and Moonbeams

My eyes burn as I stare into the sun
Melting into my sockets, striking a nerve
Yet I still can’t look away

Far so very far from here
I hear the dolphins flying
Into the sky with the birds singing below

It’s a song such a simple song
That brings me to my knees
To worship your footsteps coming to me

Follow the marquees
The twinkling lights around the edge
To swallow all the universe in a sigh

Lifetime pass in between each breath
In between the nectars seeds
The glistening between your breast

Kiss it and all of life away
To stay with you I’d give
Every single hair and lift life away

Strangers are stranger we seem
To grow and to know
Which left is right for the crying sea

Did you ever lift the clouds
Up into the sky
Or did you leave them for me down below

Falling to pieces every night
And noon, to shake me empty
To siphon the checkers dry

Kiss me just one more time tonight
And hold me sorrow in your arms
As the clovers dazzle in your eyes

Thank You to my good buddy who walked me to Wawa at 4:00 AM to make sure I didn't get my ass kicked, and thank you for contributing this great piece of art. Be sure to check out some more of her stuff at:
