We don't have to do it
We don’t have to do it
To be making love
Sometimes we can say it all
With just a simple rub
A passing smile
Or a coy glance
Is all we need
To light that fire
When the love you feel
For somebody
Goes well beyond
their body
more satisfaction can be found
in an ounce of passing brush
then in a pound
of burning lust
when that connection between two people
reaches down so deep
A look can transcend
any previous physical feat
We don’t have to do it
to be making love
Sometimes we can say it all
with just a simple hug
Fingertip to fingertip
you can feel the switch flip
electricity of simplicity
in the bliss of a simple kiss
love can be made
in simple acts of everyday
making someone breakfast
or cleaning up their mess
stroking someone’s sleeping face
with their breathing keeping pace
can be so much more sweet
then anything between the sheets
We don’t have to do it
to be making love
Sometimes we can say it all
with a simple rub
When mind, body and soul are in tune
a hello can make you swoon
No sweaty endeavor
could ever
replace the pleasure
of her face so sweet
as you rub her feet
We don’t have to do it
to be making love
