The Sleep
Phoenix Lee Wright 2001
Fumble your spirit and let your lips
Ensue me,
Crowns of summer, delicate as
Your flower, that till I love again
Love is thy life, within words of
Foreign tongues that in which I speak
Why paradise in floods,
Why Partings in oceans
Why does the rain reply
Why does brooks run dry
And rivers overflow
When seas of blue worship
The sky.
For every rose to seek it’s
Beauty upon your cheek,
Dance another tune played
Within your kiss asleep.
To wake and let your
Heart run to me
With open arms .
Into the continents
Of love
