There was a time when I looked for
Something from another in this life.
I didn't think anyone needed anything more
Than what they found in a husband or a wife.
Many people are living and going along
With an idea just like mine.
Going their way believing nothing's wrong.
Maybe even walking the straight line.
When the time to account for this life is here,
However, unless we have the Spirit of another,
We will find our debits in one hand, I fear,
Will far outweigh the credits in the other.
He's done the hard work but you must do your part.
Don't think as I did, just believing in your mind.
You must also hear Him and believe in your heart.
If you do, His Spirit will guide you and you'll find.
All you ever have to do is ask, then advance.
You must open your heart to let Him in.
He is waiting there to give you the chance
To clean up your act, to wipe out your sin.
You will want to submit your life to Him.
But, living your life for Him is easy, it's true.
Give Him your troubles, even tho' chances look slim.
They're as minor for Him as they're major for you.
When you have heard Jesus with your heart,
Your load will lighten and your cares will ease.
He will always be beside you and take your part.
He'll make correcting your mistakes a breeze.
Open your heart, let God's Spirit enter in.
You will find an intense love right from the start.
Do not close your ears, listen so you can win.
His voice will whisper in your heart.
