A Time For Joy

December Twenty-five
Is a joyous time of year
It is a time of joy
That all of us can share.

It represents the birth
Of a Jewish baby boy,
Who, though born in a stable,
Can fill us all with joy.

The shepherds on a hillside
Heard the angles sing,
And being filled with joy
Rushed off to see their king.

The Scriptures that they knew so well;
This day had been fulfilled!
The virgin who had been with child
Had given birth to a royal King.

They shall call Him "Emmanuel,"
Which means:
God is now with man
The whole world can be full of joy,
For He'll take away it's sin.

Those wise men from the East,
Had seen His twinkling star,
And following in it's light.
They traveled very far,
Anticipating as they went,
The joy that would fill their hearts,
As they view this Holy Sight.

A woman named Elizabeth,
Who was carrying her first child,
Whom the Lord had instructed
To give him the name of John.
When Mary greeted Elizabeth,
John jumped in her womb with joy,
He recognized the Son of God,
And could not contain his joy.

The poet wrote: "Joy To The World
The Lord Has Come!
Let Earth Receive Her King."
If you want joy, real joy
Wonderful Joy
Let Jesus become your King.
