Summer Sun Rises again

Summer Sun

Summer sun summer sun
Turning round burning round
The spiral grows and shows
Till midday arise
Then revealed in the light
Knocks upon the oaken door
Three rays of light
Spike forth
Opening threshold
Between the seasons core

Summer sun summer sun
So warm hot air blows
Summoning the thunderstorms
Building clouds rising higher
Hawks circling round the spire
Cries carry as they soar
Flight of the spirit
Upon the threshold door
Spiraling like bumble bees
Making mead from honey
Fruitful blossom of spring
Now passes us into fall

Summer sun summer sun
Drowsy heat skin bare
Crystal waters summon
To cleanse our toils
In the lakes of cool drink
Submerging in swim
To the next level within
Skimming the surface
Like a fish underwater
Watching the shimmer of sun
Play rays of rainbow
In arch piercing the deep

Summer sun summer sun
Invite me to your circle
Spiral upon the gateway
Pass within the oak
Key to the mysteries
Strength of hardwood
Lightening has carved a path
The door ley open
Upon the words spoken
Reveal now to me holly
As ye pass skyward
The second half of the year
The battle has turned
Green one now afire
As the spear rises from the sun

Summer sun summer sun
I am the one
Asking to walk the spiral
Like drunken butterflies
Finding their way to each flower
From metamorphose be
A beauty for all to welcome
For all to see
A sunset upon the wings
Dancing lightly and free
Till come the first star
Of the twilight hours
We will sing to the summer sun
Like a lark welcoming
Effluent life spiraling
Through the sky turning.

Piling high the earth to greet,
fall on my knees,
kneel low to the ground scooping soil to surround,
the beautiful life that soon will become a mound,
above me wheels the sun overhead,
solstice time soon will thread,
wind its way from earths far ends,
lighting the snake rivers from their stead,
silver backs of translucent life,
filled with summer fish of flashing light,
the time of youth closes near,
the honorable spirits pass by here,
from my small mound of a child's sand castle beginnings,
is erected the pilgrims stones,
round they rise to greet the sky,
and channel the sun's holy rise,
of this sacred time,
secret greetings of the druids neigh,
worship the god of the wheel in the sky,
and ceremony honor the birth of the spiral dancers,
starring deeply towards the one,
blinded by the epiphany of the solar time,
red is color of your blood,
yellow is the feel of the love,
and orange is the glow of the aura- so told,
together makes the flame of heavenly light,
celestial might welcome the birth of summer,
on the mounds that we deliver our souls to the sun.

Summer Solstice

The stone circle stands like a portal to the earth,
Civilizations worshipped inside it since their birth.
The stone circle with one side not quite right,
Was built that way for the angled light.

The stone circle, a place to perform rites,
A system that's lasted, a system that's right.
The stone circle, that's magically seen,
When you step inside it, it feels like a dream.

The stone circle, majestic at night,
Spirit of place, power and might.
The stone circle, temple of the god of sun,
Druids at Summer Solstice gather as one.

The stone circle witnessed all that was true.
It captured the light and the facts that they knew.
The stone circle, life's regeneration,
Peace, health and meditation!

Summer Solstice (2)

Time is drawing closer as we gather for father sun

A meeting of our spiritual minds as we all meet up as one

The Summer Solstice light reaches its peak upon this special day

Long through out the centuries we have celebrated the sun this way

A resonance of magic as we assemble within the ring of stones

To witness the rising light as it shines straight into our home

The beating of a drum and the sounding of two horns

Signals the emerging light born at the crack of dawn

A blessing of the quarters a calling of the peace

Is heard from the celebrant as his words flow along with ease

Extinguishing the beacons and a ringing out the bells

Acknowledges the arrival that the Summer Solstice tells

A greeting to our fellow men as pagans we shake our hands

To show that we are unarmed and bring peace through out the land
