Faith and Devotion

Lifetime of failures
in search of
love everlasting
yet undiscouraged
knowing it only happens once
only then if we're lucky.

It occured to me
that just perhaps
the key was right there
inside all along.

faith in love itself

to remain focused on a goal
one worth cherishing
guarding the love we've found
building
creating an impregnable fortress
of trust.

Devotion
to each other
to a lifelong goal
of waking each morning
embracing our love
Desire to prove
to one so true
they are special
needed..appreciated
They know love is safe.
You guard their heart
lain bare..exposed
defending the vulnerable soul
of the child
that lives forever inside us
ensuring
the last waking thought of each day
is the knowlege
the confidence that their guardian
stands ever vigilant
ever watchful
ever loyal
ever faithful
ever devoted.
