Until We Meet Again

I, existing before,
beyond the ions
and ions of time
in a heavenly place;
a spirit who knew you then
and we both knew God.

Back in time
we were tribal,
(people of caves),
more like apes
than refined.

I was your woman
and there was a son.
Inevitable death took
us back to heaven.

Upon returning
the work was hard,
the days were long,
with emptiness and void,
longing but
not remembering.

We've had many lives
and deaths and even
followed Moses into
the wilderness.

Many tears were shed together
at Jesus' feet on Calvary,
Christians who had to flee.

We rode the covered wagons
and encountered many Indians.
Our bodies have been
different ,and our size,
but always recognizable
thru the mirrors of the eyes,
the windows of the soul.

Always searching
for our true love,
through all
Space and Time.

Walking the roads
together we've learned
true joy and pain.
Now fate has dealt
us a cruel hand,
for in my haste to find you;
I was born too soon.

Now you're here again.
the difference in age
too much for us to bear.
But, when I look
into your eyes
I'm mesmerized and
see everything I need.

I'm leaving on
the next train out;
hoping our ages will be
the same next time around.
Aurevoire~~my love~~
until we meet again.
