First of all I have to say, Im a diehard RocketShipper. I'm Totaly convinced that Jessie and James should be a couple, the sooner the better.
So, What's a RocketShipper?
A RocketShipper is a person who thinks that Jessie and James have a romantic something going on, or that they should, and fast!
Romantic something going on? Jessie and James? OUR Jessie and James?
yeah... OUR Jess and Jim. Wanna know why?
Well, first of all, how can you stand a person who constantly hitting you and yelling at you if you're not in love?
James always tries to please Jessie and do what she says eventhough she hits him and make him wear dresses. Also don't forget he left the family fortune to be with Jessie, and you all know how greedy he is. It's pretty obvious that James is very attached to her, After all, he followed her in joining Team Rocket, and he's not much of the evil kind. And for all of you who think he's gay because he's a cross-dresser: A. It's a part of their mission. Nobody recognize him as a woman.Also Jessie makes him do it- and see- He always agrees ! B. In Japanese colture, a man wearing womem's clothes is more evil and powerful. C. He's not gay. You all see how he fell for the ghost and also another woman, I can't remember her name. D. Everyone in Pokemon crossdressed at least once. Even Ash.
I admit it. I belive James loves Jessie more than she loves him, but there's something there. After all how can you not fall in love with him ? :)))
Well about the beating part. Yes, Jessie hits James a lot. But if you look closely to her past you see that Jessie had a hard life and she had to be strong and independence. She might consider her feelings to James as a weakness, and she can't afford letting anyone see it, so she Over-hides it by treating James really bad. She might be frustrated and confused because of it and this is the only way she knows how to express her feelings. Besides, she probably hits him to make him a tougher man and less a whiner boy.
You can see very often that Jessie hides behind James or calling him for help, even when she can handle things herself. And last thing- didn't you ever hear about that when you love someone you make fun of him and bug him? People do that A LOT when they're trying to get some attention.
1. They always hug or hold hands when they're afraid. You hardly see any other characters do that, maybe except Misty, and we all know she loves Ash.
2. They always complete each other's sentences and think a like. (They do !)
3. In the SS Anne, James tries to sacrifice himself so Jessie and Meowth could go on easily, but Jessie didn't let him do it, and when he begs her not to leave him, so promise she won't EVER.
4. In Maiden's Peak, James doesn't want to go with the ghost (eventhough he supposed to be under a spell and also Brock is under a spell and he REALLY wants to go with her). Jessie comes to the rescue and James gasps happily: "So you do care!"
5. Holy Matrimony. Need more details? Than you're probably not a real RocketShippe. It's a classic Shippy moment- when Jessie thinks James had left her she looks really sad and when he comes back, she looks happier than ever, and James pulls her up to the balloon. They stare into each other's eyes and hold hands. You know how greedy they are, but they are happy to be together even if that means losing the money. (James: It's double troubles time? Jessie: Sounds good to me, James)
6. After Jessie fails the test in the Pokemon league, James swears to do the best for her.
7. In the episode "A friend in need", Jessie has to face Ash and his Pokemons and she calls James for help eventhough she can handle it herself. Also in "In Pink", Jessie cries: "James, do something!" and she is supposed to be the stronger one.
8. A little something I've noticed: In the moto they refer to themselves as "Double troubles" (two times troubles), totally ignoring the fact that they are a team of 3 members (I think Meowth is an equal partner), not just the two of them...
There are many many more... but you get the picture. Jessie and James complete each other, and are obviusly very close to each other. You don't see them do many things with out the other.

Prooves from the show that they got it bad for eachother:
A little theory of mine: When you love some one, you adress him by his name a lot, even if you're the only people there, and it's obvious that you're speaking to that person. In other words, while speaking to that person you love, you start the sentence with his name. Don't tell me it isn't so, it mostly is, you might not notice it.
You can see Misty adress Ash by his name LOTS AND LOTS, almost all the time, and she is definitly in love with him. There are a lot of prooves for that, but we are not talking about Team Twerp here, are we?
James ALWAYS says Jessie's name while speaking to her, and also he's the only one to call her in her nickname Jess or her full name Jessica. He also mostly say her name in a very caring tone. Jessie also say his name, but a lot less. Just for the record, except Misty, you don't hear the other characters say each other's names unless it's necessary.
