Family: Don't know about Ash's Dad, only that he is a Pokémon trainer too. His Mom lives in Pallet town. He has no siblings.
The Start of Ash's Journey: When the series starts, Ash Ketchum is a ten-year-old boy from Pallet Town. He lives with his mother, in a small house and they do not have any Pokémon. When he turns ten, he qualifies for his Pokémon license. He goes to Professor Oak to get his first Pokémon. He is allowed the choice between a Bulbasaur, Charmander, and a Squirtle. The morning he is supposed to go to Professor Oak, his alarm clock breaks and he is off to a bad start. When he arrives, Gary, his greatest Rival who is also Professor Oak's grandson has already received his Pokémon. After talking with the Professor, he finds out that all the Pokémon are gone, and he lost out because he slept in. "There is one more Pokémon" he tells Ash, who eagerly takes it, before he knows what he is getting into. It was a Pikachu.
My thoughts on Ash: He starts off a crybaby with a huge ego who has no idea what he is getting himself into. He starts off where he couldn't win a battle if his life depended on it. However as time progresses he grows to be a better person and trainer. He places 16th in the indigo league and he wins in the orange league! He always will take time out of his day to help where he is needed, and is great with his Pokémon. He is kind of pushy when it comes to battling, basically he will demand a battle, and automatically assumes he will win. When he looses he accepts it and tells his Pokémon they did a good job.
