Relation to Ash: He met up with Ash and Misty when they were on an island and taking care of a lapras. He travels with them through the orange league and leaves to stay with Professor Oak and learn more about pokemon from his "hero".
My thoughts on Tracey: I hated him for quite a while, because he took Brock's place. However, he does add to the show. I mean, if he weren't there only god knows what would happen to Ash and Misty, and we would never have gotton to see Scyther, Marril, and Venonat. Infact, we probably wouldn't know what a pokemon watcher was! Tracey is quiet. For a while he doesn't seem to have any flaws....no body ever gets mad at him, and he never does anything wrong. However as he gets to know Ash and Misty a little more this changes.
