Rules
Here's how to play the game! These aren't really
RULES. They're like how to play.... anyway! It looks like I have a lot of rules... it's
really very simple. Put up with me; I'm trying to make everything crystal clear. (And
besides, most of this page is Pokémon attacks.) Questions go here. I've put it into
sections so it's easier:
ITEMS
You can find items on certain places in my site. They will look like this:
EXAMPLE0000
The number is a sample. If you see the little box with a number, e-mail me with the
number and I'll a) reply to you saying what it is, and b) put that item on your found
list.
Items such as Potions you can use as many times as you want, but only once per Pokémon
per battle. You find a Potion, and you have an unlimited supply. But with items such as
evolutions stones, you can only use them once. But you can find more than one. Say if you
needed a Leaf stone to get Vileplume, but one for Victreebel too. You can get two. But if
you want two Vileplumes, I'm not letting you have both stones. One of that Pokémon is
enough. I know you won't use a stone more than once, becuase you need to tell me if
you're using it so it's posted. Also, I won't forget that you've used it. I leave the item
there on your found list, but it also has the name of who you used it on. Ex: TM-Ice
Beam (Vaporeon) These items to find will only start off your collection, as most of
what you get will come from the message boards.
POKEMON
You can catch Pokémon on the site and use them to battle. If you have more than 6, the
extras go into storage. You will see a picture like this when a Pokémon is there:
EXAMPLE 0000
The number is a sample. You e-mail me with the code and I'll a) e-mail you saying what
it is and b) put that Pokémon on your captured list.
All Pokémon evolve at levels 25 and 45. IF they evolve via stone, you need to use the
stone AFTER they reach the allowed evolving level. For ones that evolve through trading,
forget that, they evolve through level now. These Pokémon to find will only start off
your collection, as most of what you get will come from the message boards.
RANKING
You start at the lowest rank when you sign up. When I feel you've gotten enough
items of the right value and won enough battles, I'll increase your rank.
The Ranks:
Beginner
Trainee
Trainer
Leader
Master/Professor
The ranks go as follows:
Beginner=Join-12 things found
Trainee=13-18 things found
Trainer= 19-25 things found
Leader= 26-32 things found
Master/Professor= 33 things found and up
Things such as Fossil Hatcher, which are deleted from your list when it's been used,
are not counted towards the things found if they have already been deleted (because the
Pokemon replaced it.) If it is something like a TM, which is still on your list after
being used, it counts.
I will let you know when you are qualified for Master/Professor. When I tell you that,
please let me know if you would like to be called a Master or a Professor. Both are equal
in rank, it just depepnds which name you want.
Masters will be rewarded with:
1 Surprise Pokemon and 3 Rare Candies
Professors will be awarded with:
1 Surprise Pokemon and 3 Max. Potions
So you know: as I add Pokémon/Items, the ranking system will go up. Example:
Beginners become Trainers when they found 11 things. (Pokémon OR items) if I post two
more things, the ranking will go up two (they will now become Trainers when they find 13.)
So your rank might go up and down.....just a little explaination.
BATTLING
On my Battle Board (not in the guestbook please!) you can challenge me or other
members to battle. All Pokémon can use all moves under their name (below). You can make
up your own rules (i.e. 3 on 3, Ground type only) but you need to follow these steps
ALWAYS:
- To make it fair for everyone, you can't use KO moves. (Fissure, Guillotine, etc.)
- Also to make it fair, there are certain damage points you have to give/take.
If you are (when fully healed) at:
10-30 HP--- do at least 5 damage.
31-50 HP--- do at least 7 damage.
51-70 HP--- do at least 9 damage.
71 HP and up--- do at least 10 damage.
This does NOT mean that you TAKE that much damage if that is your HP. You DO that much
if that is your HP. Example:
Horsea L50/100 HP against Pikachu L20/40 HP
Horsea uses Bubble. Pikachu takes a minimum 10 damage, because Horsea's HP is in the 71
and up range.
Pikachu uses Thundershock. Horsea takes a minimum 14 damage. (The original 7 minimum is
doubled becuase of Horsea's weakness to electricity.) It goes on.....
When you are battling, you can
withdraw a Pokémon and it will not count as a loss IF YOU PUT IT BACK OUT LATER. If you
never put it out again, it is a loss. When you put it back out, the HP it had when you
returned it is the same, andit can't attack on the turn you put it out.
Some More About Attacks:
Attacks that put you to sleep
last for 1-3 turns. Use good judgement!
Attacks CAN miss. Just be
REASONABLE about it. Have only a few attacks miss, don't start an argument. And for
another thing, you can land attacks in between being asleep. (Some people didn't
know that.) Example:
Person A: Go Butterfree!
Person B: Go Onix!
A: Sleep Powder!
B: Asleep 2 turns.
A: Tackle and Psybeam!
B: Wakes up. Rock Throw!
etc......
Poison does 3 damage per turn,
unless the attack was Toxic. With Toxic, the damage starts at three and increases by one
every turn. So you're hit and take three, then four, then five.......
Weaknesses and Resistance:
The minimum damage for an attack
is changed becuase of weakness and resistance. The minimum damage done is doubled when
there is a weakness, and cut in half when there is a resistance.
When you've battled someone, whether on AIM/ICQ etc., through e-mail, or on my battle
board, post a new message on the battle board saying who battled, who won, and
which Pokémon were used.
Example:
Battle Results
Emily's Pikachu beat Heather's Horsea.
Heather's Scyther beat Emily's Lapras.
I will NOT update your Pokémon's level and HP unless you post a separate message with
the battle results. So you know: The Pokémon that lost goes up one level and gains two
HP. The Pokémon that won goes up two levels and gains four HP.
GYM LEADERS
You can battle and defeat a Gym Leader to become a member of their gym. That's pretty
much self explanatory. No special awards or anything. Just pride at being able to defeat a
gym leader. Do these battles through AIM/ICQ etc. or in Gym Leader Tower. Post battle
results against Gym Leaders (for memberhip) in Gym Leader Tower. You can have more that six gym pokemon, but only six in the gym
lineup at a time.
QUESTS
Check out the quest page and go
on an adventure for unknown Pokémon and items! When someone solves all of the
questions (try more that once if you want!) the item/Pokémon the quest was for is now
available for staff members to post on the town boards.
TOWN BOARDS
I have a board for each town up. You can catch or battle Pokémon I have posted there.
They will have varying levels, but you normally will win against the Pokémon. You
can say in your message whether you are trying to get levels or if you are catching it.
You can't both catch and battle a Pokémon. Each town also includes a few routes
nearby it. Nothing specific. Also, you may find some items hidden in the grass. You
can reply to a message with items in it saying that you've picked up the item. Just
as with Pokémon, ONE PER PERSON please. If the items and Pokémon are in the
same message, you CAN pick up an item and get a Pokémon.
Questions on any of this go to me.
