Each Pokémon is identified by a element. The element lets you identify what characteristics and techniques your Pokémon will have. For example, the Fire elements Pokémon usually live in volcanos, or have the techniques like Ember or Flamethrower. The elements let you know how a Pokémon will do in a battle. Fire burns Grass, and Water dampens Fire. There are 17 different elements known. There are many different types of Pokémon. Each type of Pokémon has it's own strengths and weaknesses against the other types. It's like a large scale of the game, Rock, Paper, Scissors.
