UK Interview from dotmusic.com!

Everything is about a relationship gone bad. Is the song written from a personal experience?

Marit - "The song is about an experience that Marion had. She was in love with this guy and he wouldn't call her. Nothing much has changed, it seems that men are all the same! We wanted to write the song to empathise with other girls going through the same pain."

You've had so much success in so little time, what are you looking to achieve with your new album The Big Room?

"Wow, we've been travelling and promoting and trying to reach people all over the globe and I think we definitely want to achieve more of that. We've had so much success in Asia and we're looking to have that amount or more in the UK. We want to show people that we are songwriters and to prove ourselves. We're not some manufactured pop band. All you have to do is listen to us to realise that."

Who are your musical influences?

"Oh so many where do I start (Marion) The Beatles, girls with guitars, like, Sheryl Crow and Jewel. Jewel approached us and asked us to support her on her forthcoming tour. We were so excited, it's such an honour. We've grown up a lot over the past 2 years and gotten to know who our real friends are. We've also got into Rock Music a lot more so that has broadened our style. Our musical skills are a lot better, we've travelled more and that has influenced us a lot."

When did you first start writing songs?

"Marion was 13 and I was 14. As soon as we started to relate to music really. It was a way of expressing ourselves and reaching people, helping them to understand us."

How have the press back home in Norway received you?

"Great !I think we're the biggest thing over there since A-HA. At first I (Marit) think the press were very sceptical about us. That we were some teeny boppy girl band, but they've been more and more supportive as time has gone by and now are behind us 100%."

Do you find that your friends and family treat you differently now that you're successful musicians?

"No, not at all, though we have definitely found out who our true friends are. When I go home (Marit) my mum still makes me clean the toilet - and if I say no I'm in trouble!

"Why should they treat us any differently anyway, we're still the same people, just doing a job that we love."

You recently filmed an episode of Dawson's Creek, did you have fun?

"Yes. We're both such fans and watch it avidly whenever we can! As soon as we got there we were nearly calling the cast by their characters names! We filmed on Friday and there was such a good atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and I would so love to go back for more. Marion would like to dabble in a bit of acting. She would love to be like Christina Ricci and Angelina Jolie."

Some fans can be obsessive and copy everything that you do. Do you feel a certain responsibility to present an image to your fans because of this?

"Absolutely. We feel very responsible. But you have to remember that we are people to and that it's important to be yourself. People are very easily influenced and just because they are easily influenced doesn't mean that we have to be completely responsible for their actions."
