The sound of running water attracts you so you follow the sound to its source. A tiny spring shoots into the air and a bubbling brook runs from it, the sent of lemons reaches your nose and you decide you are at lemon springs, the stone post stuck into the ground in front of you confirms you. 'Lemon Springs.'

To quench your thirst, to help you live

That is the precious gift I give

With out this water, the world would die

For little rain falls from the sky

   Oddly, the water shooting up isn't warm, instead, it's clear and cool, tasting faintly of lemon. Without warning, a tiny green shape hurtles by you and dives into the spray. You watch, half amused, half shocked, as the little creature dashes in and around, thoroughly wetting and enjoying itself. Upon seeing you, it stops mid-dash, and falls over onto it's face.

  Quickly recovering, it sprints over to you, spraying you with water.  "Hello!" It barks cheerfully. A bit astonished, you don't say anything for a moment.

   "You speak English? Mom told me most humans do." The little pup cocks its head, dark eyes peering up at you curiously. Blinking back, you finally nod. 

  "Hi than, my name's Chikaku, it means 'Earth's Core' in Japanese, that's because I'm an Earth Melcey." 

  Confused, you inquire what a Melcey is. 

   "If you want to know, why don't you just head over that way, where I came from?" Chikaku says, by now you've decide 'it' is a male. 

  "Hey, I have to go, I need to find something to eat." Chikaku says, snuffling. "See you around!" And sprints off. 

   It's time to move on.
