Dark Pupitar locked it's fangs into the soft flesh of the Tork's back. It roared and began to buck once more. Then it drew in air, puffing it's body slightly. Pupitar lost it's grip and fell before the enraged Pokemon. A jaring trumpeting rose from Tork before it leapt forward pinning the pupitar to the ground. Tork bellowed once more before it began to kick furiously at Gary's pokemon.

Gary tried to recall his pupitar but everytime Tork's tail flew forward striking Pupitar or lashing out at Gary. It brought it's jaws down on Pupitar's head. Several spines broke away. Pupitar cut at the monster's legs. Tork cried out causing Gary and Ash to hold their hands against their ears. Dark Pupitar managed to spring away with it's tail.

Tork sniffed and licked his wounded leg. Gary ran in front of his Pupitar trying once more to recall it. It hissed then swished it's tail at Gary. Gary leapt back in time to see it fly once more at Tork. Just then a pokeball flew at Tork. Tork was drawn into the ball as Pupitar landed next to it. It grasped the ball trying to crush it. Ash snatched the ball while leaping over Pupitar. He landed a few feet away.

Gary ordered the pokemon to return, it turned toward him then gave him a sneering look before launching after Ash. Ash shouted at Gary as he ran. Gary tried to recall the bug but, it would leap behind trees, rocks and shrubs. Pikachu ran after them calling Ash.

Melanie found the stone, she sighed in relief it burned a briliant blue then it changed to red. She returned the dagger to it's scabard. She heard footsteps, she knew Will would send junior trainers to investiagate.

"Melanie? I have sense the stones activity. What are the results?" Sabrina contacted her.

"My lady the Elitist can be trusted."

"Finally an ally." Sabrina sighed. "We have been fighting the future with no one to rely on Melanie. Now is the time to kill our pride and reach out for help."

"Do you wish for me to speak to him now?" Melanie looked back into the window, Brock was gone.

"No, I will contact him myself. Rest now, do as you wish till dawn." She left Melanie.

She gingerly stepped away from the shadows, Brock stopped. He then knew he was still in love with her and he had question upon question for her but, he only was able to get one out.

"Melanie what are you doing here!" He ran to her.

"Doing a task for my mentor." She replied.

"No, I mean out here in the wide world. Why aren't you at your hidden village?" Brock held out his hand and she accepted it.

"That is an unpleasant story Brock. To make it short and less painful I'll just say my wild Pokemon Center no longer stands."

Brock turned toward her with shock on his face. He remembered she had that village well protected. He looked away.

"What's wrong Brock?" She saw his expression.

"It's not our fault is it?" He looked ashamed.

"No, how could it be?"

"Well we found it and Team Rocket followed us then Ash took your protector with him." Brock gazed at her.

"No! It's not your fault! I didn't know how legendary my center was. Thieves are thieves Brock! When they find something they want nothing will stop them. And I gave Bulbasaur to Ash. And from what I saw it do in the stadium I'm convinced I did the right thing." She held his hand once more. "I've learned a lot be being out here in what you call the "Wide World!" And I have to say I enjoy it."

Misty walked about the room studying more paintings. She felt something had drawn her to them especialy the one Shao Lin. Another drew her to it. A shadowy figure ran in a forest while a hideous bug Pokemon chased the figure. And a brown creature was wheeling around to protect the boy. Misty felt the figure was a boy.

"Will? What are these paintings of?" She examined them closer.

"Misty please, I need to concentrate." He spoke gently from the other room.

"Please Will? I need to know." She appeared in the doorway. Mew flew upside down behind her.

"Alright if you must know there is a book of legends inside my desk. This just might keep you from worrying so much." He walked to the other room with her. "Here, this has the entire legend of Shao Lin."

He stopped and looked at Mew who was watching the paintings with great interest. She sent waves to him, she was telling him that the legend was a clue to the events. She flipped rightside up and pointed with her paw at another painting.

"According to legend Shao Lin was the most powerful wizard ever to live. He created the world of Atlantis. He and his kind the merfolk lived in the World of Emerald but, tradgey struck and they were forced from their Kingdom by new and terrifying creatures! Shao Lin wisest of the Mermen created the portal. He brought his people to a new world and a New Atlantis was constructed." She read as Will stared at the same painting Mew pointed out. "The merfolk gave a name to these ruthless creatures: Humans."

"The merfolk were soon to discover that humans followed them into the new world and Shao Lin once more tried to defend his people but, at last he fell and Atlantis sunk to the ocean floor one thousand years ago." Will continued. He read on. "It was said that Shao Lin swore revenge, he swore he would rise once more to reconquer his Kingdom. Humans stole the very rods that brought them to this world the Emerald and Amber rods. They buried them upon what is believed to be Indigo Plateau's summit."

"Will? If those paintings deal with the legends why are these different." Tracey pointed to the row of scenes involving a pair of figures running from Pokemon, fighting other people. And one simply showed the outlines of trainers who held two crystal touching the tips together. A light illuminated the scene.

The light in the artist depiction reminded her of the lime green light that flashed on the horizon. She tried to make out the shadows, wondering who the figures represented.

"It was told that one day two trainers would find the stone rods and return to the homeworld. They are to fly beyond mere man's reach and fight for the sake of two worlds. A young foolish boy in Emerald sent the events into motion by his careless travels using Shao Lin's Rods." Will looked back at Mew as she pawed the painting of the figures and the crystals. "Two boys to unite the past and present saving the future."

Sabrina tripped, she scolded herself. She held her head in her hands. She groped around shortly, she forced herself to her feet. She walked around the darkened room and found what she wanted. She felt her fingers glide over the Marsh Badge. It was the very one that was enlarged and hung over her throne in her gym. She knew it held unusual properties, often boosting her psychic powers. Her father was the one who created it and displayed it proudly in the gym.

She would need it to contact Will. He was the one to help her cause, the one to unite Kanto and Johto. She felt the powers surge inside her. She began to grow an image in her mind's eye of Will. She felt his thoughts as she allowed him to enter her mind.

"So here we are. You are the one blocking my powers aren't you?" He asked.

"Will?" Misty stared confused.

"Sssshh Misty. A woman is reaching me telepathically." He put a finger to her lips.

"Yes, it was necessary for my saftey and the wellfare of my student. I have examined your intentions Will and now I know I can trust you." Sabrina explained.

"You are Sabrina? Of Saffron." As Will spoke the words Misty nudged Tracey.

"It's Sabrina!" She whispered.

"Who?" Tracey was puzzled.

"That's right! You didn't join us yet, where's Brock?" She scanned for him.

"He went to go investiagate that light with a few other JR Trainers."

"What light?" Misty gave him an odd look.

"You didn't see it?"

"No." She was curious now. "Let's go find Ash and give Will some privacy."

Ash tried to keep his breathing under control. He didn't want the Dark Pupitar to find him. Something rushed by, he tucked himself lower into the hollowed tree. There it stood, scanning the surroundings. Dark Pupitar's tail swished about. The spines opened and closed like a pair scissors. He could hear them run across each it was a metallic clatter.

From the left Gary sprang into view, Pupitar ignored his orders and swiveled back to it's search. It had a burning desire to destroy that Tork, all Dark pokemon were trained and bred to kill their targets.

Gary tossed his pokeball at it as Ash leapt from his hiding spot. He grasped the insect by it's bristly hair and stepped on it's tail. Ash held tight as the Pupitar shrieked. He felt the power held in the creatures muscles.

"Pupitar return!" Gary's pokeball hit Dark Pupitar and returned it to it's prison.

"That is it! Get rid of it Gary!" Ash barked.

"No! If I can tame this thing then it'll prove I'm not a loser!" Gary held the pokeball protectively.

"You don't have to prove anything to Team Rocket they're the losers Gary! That thing is dangerous and keeping it around is risking our necks!" Ash glared at Gary.

"I have to prove it to myself!" Gary returned the sneer.

"Get rid of it Gary!" Ash was dead set on this subject.

"Come on and make me!" He pulled the Amber from his belt loop and held it over his head.

"Oh! That's real mature!" Ash didn't back down nor did he take a step forward. "Why risk our lives to prove a point Gary!"

Eevee put her paws on Gary's belly and pleaded to him to stop, he pushed her away with his free hand. He squinted his eyes and rushed at Ash.

"Piiiika!" Pikachu stood in front of him shaking his head. Eevee was next to Pikachu and both wanted to stop this fight before someone got hurt.

Gary leapt over them and was bounding towards Ash when a light blinded him. He fell over while Eevee rushed to his side. Ash held a hand out trying to block it. Two figures leapt into sight.

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

"Jessie!"

"Meowth!"

"Where's James?" Asked Ash.

Jessie and Meowth both stopped in mid motto.

"He got himself some righteous streak in him and now we get to stomp the two of yose guys alone!" Meowth hissed.

"But, it looks like we should just sit back and watch you to bash each other's skulls in!" Jessie laughed.

"Hey! We should have you nitwit! You said to attack now!" Meowth hopped in aggravation.

"Calm down Meowth we've seen these two before they can't work together!"

"Neither can you two! That's why you always lose!" James shouted.

"You came back to me!" Jessie hugged him.

"No actually I heard the fight and came to see what was going on." James smiled.

"James why are you out of uniform?" Asked Meowth.

James remembered he held his Team Rocket shirt in his hand. He tossed it violently tossing it to the ground.

"From this day on I quit Team Rocket! I'm going to follow the twerp he always seems to get out these situations just fine!"

"Uh thanks I think." Ash gave them a nervous smile.

"I'm tired of taking orders from you Jessie! And you Meow too! I'm not rich, I'm not famous or anything else Giovanni promised!"

"Put that uniform back on now!" Jessie growled.

"No!" He hid behind Ash.

"I'm going to give you three seconds before I make you put this uniform back on!" Jessie held it to him.

"Go ahead and try!" James shouted before the fight began.

Mew cried out, Misty dropped the book and Will opened his eyes. Misty felt her heart tremble she didn't know such a sweet looking creature could make such a grotesque call. It fell to the floor, and did not move.

"Something happened Sabrina!" Will reached out to her again.

"Yes. I sense it too. Ash has been separated from Gary some how." She panic began to build in her. "I need to return to my gym, I will need my students to help guide my powers. When I arrive I will send you word and we must prepare to prevent the war with a new plan."
