To start with I'm going to say something that I'm sure every yaoi/yuri fan or someone looking for proof in slash relationships, has heard a million times. Homosexuality has shown up in animes in the past and will show up in the future. The over used example of course is Sailormoon. Malachite and Zoicite are both males and they are shagging!! Oh my gosh! My eyes! My innocence is gone forever! What about the children!....the dubbers must of thought this when Sailormoon first came out way back when it did. (I can't remeber when that was but I was still in juniour high and I'm a year past high school graduation now...) So the people who got a hold of the cells when they came over to North American soil gave Zoicite breasts and longer hair I suppose and made hea she. And there are a well known pair of lesbians on the show...actually from what my Sailormoon obsessed friend tells me is all the Sailors are lesbians so lets leave that there.
And of ocurse homosexuality and crossdressing is abundent on my all time fave anime as well. What is that you ask? Fushigi Yuugi of course! Anyway, we have Nuriko the crossdresser there who is in love with the Emporer, and of course there's Tomo in love with Nakago who has a thing for Tamahome. And then there's the whole twincest thing. Of course we have the 'best friends' Tasuki and Kouji who was WAY too happy to see eachother to be "just friends".....Man, that is one messed up show, no wonder I love it so much :)
Okay, so Sailormoon and Fushigi Yuugi aren't as kiddy-ish as Pokemon is but hey, Card Captor Sakura has homosexuallity in it too and that is as much for kids as Pokemon is. So there!
I'm not saying that homosexuality on Pokemon is offcial (yes, that means James isn't gay...yet) but it does come up in Japan. Heeheehee, I can't wait to see what the dubbers do to Tory and Julien's relationship...
