Kitto: Prologue
Kitto: Prologue

I suggest you stay away if you don't like [yaoi] or (shounen-ai) -- [Male/Male Sexual Orientation] (Boy Love)

Disclaimers: Feh, do I really have to repeat this? Nothing belongs to me except the writing. Take it, and I'll hunt you down like a rabid lawyer.

Part Songfic. I don't know how this got to a typical Gothic-alternative-metal lover, but... I just happened to pass by MTV and see the part of "Love Song" where that Billy guy sings to Monica. And then I fell in love with it. *Le sigh* I am such a pansy. The song is "What My Heart Says". (Thanks Alix-sissy, for sparing me a minute worth of downloading the song on my comp. =)

This takes place after GS (Gold/Silver) in the GB game.

(Oh, hey, the title "Kitto" is Japanese slang [I think] for "perfect". Zekkou is also a word for perfect, but I liked the way kitto sounded for a title.)

"I... I won?!" Aghast, Gin* fell to his knees, stuttering. He nearly fainted, and nearly cried at the sight of his victory. After Johto, his mission was Kanto, the home of the past champion. And now, he had beaten both leagues, and the four at Indigo Plateau. He had now fulfilled a dream he had not set himself to, yet still achieved it -with hope, love, and the courage that burned in the past champion. He was the new champion; he was the new victory.

Gin stood up, wiping the continuously trickling sweat from his forehead. A small smile flitted across his proud face. His competitor looked at him silently, with the same exact expression plastered upon his face. A small nod was given from the dark-auburn haired Gym Leader, who, after introducing himself and the battle, finally spoke to Gin.

"Listen, you," He said, almost monotone, but with a hint of the Gym Leader's past well-known sarcasm, "You better not lose until I beat you!" Gin nodded, grinned, and held out hishand for his final victory. The Green Badge was now his, and his mission in Kanto was over. He gave a slight bow, and to his surprise, received one back from the Gym Leader. With a straight, proud face, the young boy marched out of Tokiwa City gym.

Ookido Shigeru flopped down on the armchair on which he sat on whenever he waited. He'd been gone for a long time from his gym -he was betting a lot of trainers were mad at him. Though, it wasn't as if they could beat him. So how could that kid, that Johto kid, beat the almost-master Ookido Shigeru? Shigeru had an idea, though it wasn't like he was going to admit what it was. When the kid came, he knew he would lose because that young boy had the same exact look on his face as Satoshi had -yes, Satoshi, his once best-friend, the boy who ruined his dreams, the one who exceeded far beyond his very own limits -yes, that boy reminded Shigeru well of him.

And he did lose. He lost an extreme battle, where both trainers had pushed their pokèmon to their limits. But it didn't feel so bad to lose to anyone, anymore. Or it could just be that since Shigeru had known, he wasn't afraid. But he wanted to deny that it reminded him of Satoshi. Never would Shigeru /ever/ dare think of the boy who ruined what he lived for. Never.

While the past-cocky, dark-auburn haired leader brooded in trying to take Satoshi away from his thoughts, it seems as if another pair of eyes watched him from behind the shadows. The last eyes that Shigeru could stand to see right now.

"I know that you didn't give that battle your best, Shigeru." A familiar voice called out from behind him. Shigeru felt tension crawl up his spine, and it made him shiver. He pushed his back harder into the armchair as his slowed his breathing down. He closed his eyes and tried not to let his voice break.

Visions creeped into Shigeru's mind.

* "Shigeru, don't turn away from me. I'm old enough now, and I think I have a right to know why the /hell/ you've been treating me this way, and now suddenly you're just going to walk away and leave what you've done to me unfinished? I want an explanation, and I want it here and now."

Shigeru forced his hand to be released, pulling it away with all the force he could manage. He turned around, the rain dropping onto his spiky auburn hair and dropping onto his pale visage. His lips quirked to that same Shigeru-smirk. Satoshi's eyes narrowed into a spiteful glare, as he awaited an answer.

'Tell me what you're thinking, Shigeru.' Satoshi whispered in his mind, his eyes trying all they could to pierce into Shigeru's head. No use. But for Shigeru... was a different reason. His somber gaze fell upon Satoshi's own, hard and cold, yet he prodded through his mind.

'If only it could be as easy as you think it is, Satoshi.'

"Things change. So do people. Right now, I'll leave you to all your fame, and all your glamour, Satoshi. I would have thought you'd appreciate what I'm doing. I'll see you around, Pokèmon Master... or maybe not."

Shigeru forced a respective smile, bowed, and turned away. Water trickled down Satoshi's face, but the rain had already stopped. *

"Hmm," Shigeru mumbled, tapping his nails along the wood lining of the armchair. His eyes snapped open. "So, has the great Pokèmon Master come to taunt me, Shigeru Ookido, who has been bit down to nothing but a Gym Leader, after all he's done to poor, old you?" He said, his voice steady enough to hide what had just gone through his head. Satoshi stood behind him, same attire as ever, his hat twisted to the front covering his now, older, more mature visage. From the light that shone through his face, though, a small, crooked smile formed.

"Well, now that you remind me," Satoshi began, his smile growing into a wide, harpy grin. Shigeru's eyes flickered to the still half-shadowed body of Satoshi with an odd, bewildered look. Satoshi grinned even broader. "I'm kidding. Actually, I... I came to ask you something." Satoshi stepped out of the shadow, knowing that Shigeru can see him, even from behind the puffy armchair. He could feel Shigeru look away, and his eyes fall downcast. Satoshi inhaled deeply, and exhaled with disarray. "It's... it's not about that, Shigeru. It's err..a little more, say, un-personal."

Always a loss for words, that Satoshi. Shigeru stood up, turning to face the boy, now a man. Somewhere deep in Shigeru, it kept telling him that the fire he ran away from was never put out, and seeing him mroe beautiful than he will ever become made that fire even stronger. Shigeru bit his lip, and walked toward Satoshi. His placed his stoic look upon his face, hoping that it wouldn't break. Satoshi inhaled again.

"Though, I still want to-" Satoshi started, then stopped when Shigeru's eyes narrowed.

"Look... what do you want from me? You've already taken everything. I don't see what else that's so un-personal that I could possibly offer to you." Shigeru's voice was almost a growl. Satoshi was taken back by what he had just said. But he wanted to ask Shigeru now, to make up for everything. And so that he have what he wanted. What he needed.

Satoshi had grown after ten years. His mind, his body, and his every action had changed, and Satoshi knew how to be in control of it all now. And what he wanted was what he was going to get, no matter what anyone tries to say. And he was here to get his friend back -and maybe possibly what had been between them before.

"I... I have two tickets to Shion Town*. I came here to see if you wanted to go with me, like... a vacation before the year ends." Satoshi's breath was released after his invitation. Shigeru cocked an eyebrow at Satoshi. Suddenly, that smirk just seemed to tug at his lips again.

"Me? You want /me/ to go with /you/ to Shion Town so that we can take a vacation /together/? Gee, sounds like something you would do with that water-brained priss, what's-her-name. By the way, where /are/ your two goon friends?" Shigeru quipped. He was getting his old strike back, and he wondered if it was because of Satoshi. Of how much Satoshi reminded him of his past. Of- no, he wouldn't think of that.

"They're my friends, /not/ my parents. And... I don't see why everyone is so competent on trying to 'make me realize that I /do/ love Kasumi', because I don't. And it's getting really, /really/ annoying."

Shigeru's smirk broadened. "I've always thought you did."

Satoshi glared.

"Yeah, yeah, okay, anyway... why me?"

"I don't really think I need a reason. So... will you?"

Shigeru shrugged. Maybe he could put up with Satoshi now, after all, ten years makes a lot of difference to a person. Or at least, he hoped. And besides... he never liked the idea of being stuck in Tokiwa City Gym all the time anyway. So... why push the offer off, when you can take it?

"Sure, why not. Who'd want to be cooped up in here all the time anyway." His eyes spied a small smile on Satoshi's lips, but weren't able to see the eternal bliss twinkling in Satoshi's hazel orbs.

"Okay," Satoshi said, thanking God for not letting himself squeak. "Okay. Um, I'll... pick you up tomorrow at six a.m. The flight's at 7:30 in Masara Town Airport... B-b-bye." Shigeru hadn't bothered to notice Satoshi's stuttering. He just flung his cape around and went off to exit the gym.

As soon as Satoshi was alone, and as soon as Shigeru had reached outside, both flung themselves softly against the nearest wall, and slid down to the ground.

'Kitto,' Satoshi thought. 'Everything will be perfect after this trip.'

'Kitto,' Shigeru thought simultaneously. 'I just hope I don't do anything I'll regret...'

Both closed their eyes and fell to the silent movies of their memories.

*Ash is not the character in GS, it's a guy named Silver (dubbed). Gin is Japanese for Silver? (I wouldn't know, I'm not Japanese... so excuse my tenses in using the words..)

Egh, I think it's too obvious on Satoshi's side, but I /was/ attempting him to set this all up anyway! So, as always, R/R, and tell me if I should even /bother/ continuing it.
