Rammstein: Mutter

Rammstein: Mutter

Forget Slipknot. Forget Korn. Forget the crybaby, generic, homogenized sound of the heavy rock bands that America's tasteless record companies keep churning out onto a clueless mass public audience. The fresh sounds of hard rock and metal are found here, on Rammstein's Mutter.

Rammstein is a hard rock/metal band from Germany, and they will rock you like a long night of guzzlin' German beer. Then, while you are still reeling from a metal induced hangover, they blow you away with a chorus that's stronger than a German Momma. It doesn't matter that you don't understand a word that is uttered, you get the gut level check form the blast of the music anyway. Thus is the might of Rammstein.

Rammstein's music blends hard, furious riffs with bits of electronica and melodic supplements (kind of like a German version of Disturbed, but better). What results is pure genious and definitely high quality entertainment. Before hearing this album, I thought that the heavy metal of today was pretty much played out. But after experiencing Mutter, I knew that there was life still in the fleeting heart of creativity. Honestly, Rammstein should hold a school on metal so that all of today's American craprockers (like Trust Company, etc.) can learn how to put some real balls into their music.

If you like your music hard, loud, and sometimes swift, then you owe it to your heavy metal soul to check out this album. I'm not even a huge fan of metal, but this album screams quality, and I love it. I just wish more of today's hard rock was like this.
