Onimusha: Warlords

Onimusha: Warlords

Imagine this, if you can: You are a super badass samurai. Unfortunately for you, demons are trying to take over the world, and they're starting in your neck of the woods. However, you have been given a gift--a magical gauntlet--that grants you massive power to fight the demons. You also have several badass weapons (similar to your own badass-ness) to help you on your quest.

You must use your new powers to infiltrate a fortress overrun with demons, rescue some allies, and ultimately delve into the demon world to destroy the demon king. Along the way you will encounter many demon minions and huge, otherworldly bosses. No problem, though, because your badass weapons are magical and can be powered up to make them more devastating. You must also solve several puzzles to achieve success in your mission. And don't worry, you don't have to do this all by yourself--you get a beautiful (female--sorry San Franciscans) ninja sidekick to help you through some rough spots.

If you manage to successfully complete your mission, new opportunities await you. Depending on the degree of your success, you will open up new modes of play and other secrets, the apex of which is the ability to play as McLintock the Gun Toting Country Bear Panda. He is great indeed.

The only real possible problem with your mission is its brevity. It will only take you 6 to 7 hours to complete the mission the first time through, and subsequent attempts will most likely be finished in half that time. Despite the short length, the mission will prove to be quite enjoyable.

You can stop imagining now, if you wish. "But imagining is fun!" you say, and ask "Why?" Well, because your imaginary mission becomes a reality in Onimusha (not really a reality in real life, but a video game reality in a real video game in real life). If the above description got your motor running, or it sounds like something you're interested in, then give Onimusha a try.
