After finishing up with The Mickey Mouse Club, Britney was asked to be a member of Innosense, but she decided to go her own way instead.
Dana Spears? Almost. Her parents were going to name her Dana before deciding on Britney.
Before each performance, Britney has two hours of "lock-down" time, where she gets her hair and makeup done and listens to Janet Jackson.
A Britney Spears Museum is under construction in her hometown of Kentwood, LA.
Britney has her own tour bus complete with a tanning bed. And she decorated it in one quick trip to Wal-Mart! Favorite buys: little lamps, doilies, throw rugs and pillows.
Guess it's worth all the trouble 'cause the singing sweetie hates to fly.
She's working with a nutritionist to maintain good eating habits and keep up her energy. "I try to take care of myself," she says. "I love stretching and sit-ups, but if I exercise too much, like if I go out and run or something, my legs get bigger. When I ran track, I looked like a bodybuilder!"
Sometimes Britney's schedule is so busy, she has to learn her dance routines by videotape in her hotel room, by herself, at the end of a very long day.
Her clothes are getting more sophisticated: "I'm wearing tighter jeans instead of those big pants all the time with baby T's. I'm just totally into rock-and-roll style right now."
What her friends call her: Boo. What she sometimes calls herself: A goob.
