Britney Spears Tour 2001 |
|
I can now OFFICIALLY say that Brit is amazing!!
I went to see Britney in concert Thursday, November 8th at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA. Can I just tell you, that this tour absolutely ROCKS! We left Lock Haven (where I go to school) around 6pm and got to the Bryce Jordan Center before 7pm, and got to our seats just as O-Town was finishing up their first song. First, let me say, that our seats were great! They weren't the best seats for taking pictures because they were a little further away, but we could see everything at all times. O-Town were, OK I admit it, pretty good. I honestly can't stand them, but their performance wasn't too bad. They got off stage and the intermission started. We saw them bring out the props for Brit's show and costumes and stuff like that. About 10 minutes before the show we saw Britney walk out and under the stage. Right before the show we saw Lynn and Jamie-Lynn walk out and sit in reserved seating. Was Justin there you ask? I was watching, but I can't be sure. A few songs into her set, a guy with a baseball cap on came out and took a seat in the reserved section, but we were pretty far away from them, so I can't be sure. (Nice arms though!)
<<WARNING: Details are coming, don't read if you want to be surprised!!>> Brit started out the show hanging on a vertical turn-table singing (maybe) to "Oops! I Did It Again". She went right into "You Drive Me Crazy". To be completely honest with you, I don't remember the rest of the order. I know what she did, I just don't know when! (Hey, that's what the HBO special is for...plug, plug!) The theatrics of the show were amazing. Very "Broadway" and very neatly done. My favorite song on the new CD is "Boys", (*This changes with each time the track advances to the next song on the CD, but for awhile, it's been "Boys"*). Anyway, that was a highlight of the concert, in fact all the new songs where. Near the middle of the show, she slowed things down a little bit and talked to the crowd awhile. "I know I get a lot of people talk about what I wear and what I say. But I just need to be me. I'm not a little girl anymore...." She followed that with "I'm not a girl, Not yet a woman". One of the highlights of the night for me was "I Love Rock n Roll". My friend, Lorrie, is obsessed with this song. She was bouncing along with the rest of us. Her finale of "...Baby, One More Time" was original, and well, wet. Brit and the dancers literally walked/rode through a waterfall. Everyone knows now what Wade meant when he said "we're gonna bring the outside, in". I gotta hand it to all of them for NOT falling on the wet stage. I would've, I can tell you that right now.
All in all, this was a great concert experience. I definitely recommend trying to catch this show!! |
