The Backstreet Boys, Michael J. Fox, comedians Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Jimmy Fallon, and actress Reese Witherspoon and her husband, actor Ryan Phillippe, have been added to the all-star lineup for the Concert For New York City. In addition, Paul Shaffer and the CBS Late Show Orchestra will serve as the house band for the concert. The Backstreet Boys canceled a previously scheduled concert in San Diego to ensure that they could be a part of the event. The Boys will return to the West Coast to continue their national tour following the benefit event.

New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani said of the upcoming concert, "On behalf of all New Yorkers, I want to thank the entertainment industry for using their unique talents to aid our recovery effort. Together, we will rebuild our lives and our city."

Previously announced performers and participants include: Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, the Who, Bon Jovi, James Taylor, John Mellencamp, Macy Gray, Goo Goo Dolls, Melissa Etheridge, Marc Anthony, Five For Fighting, India Arie, Jim Carrey, Meg Ryan, Susan Sarandon, David Spade, Julia Stiles, Denis Leary, John Cusack, and members of New York sports teams. The Concert For New York City will air live from Madison Square Garden on VH1 this Saturday (October 20) at 8 p.m. ET.

All proceeds from the Concert For New York City will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which was established by the Robin Hood Foundation, a leader in the fight against poverty in New York City. Robin Hood will distribute all of the money raised for the Relief Fund to the most effective charities helping victims' families, rescue workers, and those who have been impacted by the economic consequences of the tragedy. Tickets for the concert sold out on October 8, but a limited number of premium tickets ($2,000 to $10,000) remain available through the Robin Hood Foundation's website (robinhood.org).
