She may be married to one of the most adorned men in the music industry, but this lady deserves a spotlight all her own. She has a new movie coming to theaters in Orlando, New York, Baltimore, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, called "Olive Juice" and we predict that this is just the beginning. We look forward to seeing much more of her both on the big screen and in other areas of the industry.
Some of Leighanne's #1 fans sent in questions for her to answer about her career, being married and her personal life. Find out a little about the woman behind the man, as Leighanne reveals details about the filming of "Olive Juice" and her career in Part 1 of this 2 part interview! One of the sweetest people you could speak with, it is a pleasure to present an exclusive interview with Mrs. Leighanne Littrell.
PART 1 of 2
Can you tell us about your character in the movie?
My character is a professional who works at a news station as a graphic designer. She does all the graphic designing for the set-up of the news. She's a little more conservative than I am, but she's got a good sense of humor and she's like the girl next door.
What was it like working on the film and how does it feel that the film is finally going to be released?
It's wonderful. After 2 years, it's great that we got it released because it is an independent and a lot of people don't get theater time and so, we're really excited about that, the film is awesome because obviously, it's my first starring role and it was a great learning experience. I was involved with the acting, as well as associate producing on it, so it was an incredible learning experience.
What is your favorite scene in the movie?
I would say that probably the carriage scene where we are acting kind of tipsy and drunk, where Brian is in, because it was fun making.
Where will the film be released?
It will be released in independent theaters in Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore and Orlando.
Does Brian get jealous with you filming scenes with another man?
(Laughs) He doesn't like it that much but it's kind of like him doing like a dance on the stage with another girl or doing videos with girls. You know he has to understand, but it's kind of uncomfortable for us, you know (laughs)
Now that "Olive Juice" has finished, what are your plans for the near future?
Well, now that "Olive Juice" is finished and as soon as I get the soundtrack all done, I am looking at another project and I might be executive producer on and starring in. It's not set in stone, but I would like to either do another independent or try to get a small role in a big film. I've been auditioning a lot out in L.A., just trying to get back in the groove of things. It's pilot season right now and many actors are on strike. So, there may not be anything until the strike is settled. I am also writing with my roommate trying to get another film started. We've got the whole production started and it's like our first project together and we're both really excited about it. We've got a couple of artists that we are going to push and maybe have them record an album.
I know that you co-produced the soundtrack of "Olive Juice" with Brian. What was that like?
It was really fun. I had a lot of people send me different music from Orlando and L.A. and Brian and I listened to the music together and then we put the music in the film and that was where he played a big role, where we actually sat together and watched things over and over again with the different music to see what fit. It was something that we both have a natural talent for, and now that Brian is getting ready for the tour and he was recording, I was left on my own with like getting all the rights and I actually had to fight for like 5 songs that are on the album, to get the rights to because we loved them so much. We work really good together and I have a little music background, because like my Dad was a drummer when I was really young, so you know I have a passion for it, as well.
Will the soundtrack be released in music stores?
It will be in every store we can get it in.
Do you have any plans to venture more into the music business?
I've been writing a little bit. I would say that writing and producing is pretty much what I want to do right now.
When was the first time that you knew in your heart that you wanted to be an actress...anything that particularly to your memory? (Lynn)
No, I mean since I can remember like 5. I think I was born with that kind of passion and I was always a little performer. When I was 5, I started gymnastics and did that for 2 years and then around junior high or high school, I started getting into the drama program and just loved it.
What steps did you take to make it to where you are now?
Well, I got into a couple commercial classes, which is basically a course or seminar that teaches you how to audition for commercials and I spent 5 years in a theatre group. I guess I studied a lot of theatre, because it's the best training for acting whether it film or commercials or whatever. Method acting was probably my favorite style of acting.
What advice do you have for any actors or actresses who are looking forward to making it in the entertainment business?
I would definitely stay in school. Get a good education, because there's a lot of reading; you need to have an understanding about events and time periods, and history plays a big role. I would say stay in school, study as hard as you can in the theatre or whatever you are interested in. If you can carry a tune, that's good for musical theatre, if you can dance, that's good; as long as you know that you've got a craft and you can do anything they want you to do, nobody can say no to you and that's a power that you got for your self-esteem.
What school did you attend?
I went to an acting school called "Alliance Theatre" in Atlanta.
If you weren't an actress, what do you think you would be doing?
I wanted to be a veterinarian a long time ago (laughs), but probably something along the lines of producing, directing, in the music background, you know, something in the industry.
Who are your role models??
Well, I would say in business it would be Meryl Streep, Jessica Lange, Goldie Hawn…
Now that you have been married for almost 5 months, is there anything about marriage that you didn't expect?
You know what, everyone said when you get married, everything changes and they were thinking negatively for some reason. I talked to a lot of people that had a hard time the first couple of months of marriage. Our marriage has been awesome. It's gotten better and our communication is better.
There are rumors flying around that you and Brian are expecting? Is this true?
No, no babies.
Are their any plans for kids in the near future?
We are planning on having a family, just not now. Not any time within like the next year or so.
Hi, I was just wondering if you love 'Yes I Will' as much as me. It must be wonderful hearing your husband sing such a sweet, romantic song. What is your favorite song off of Black & Blue?
Yes, I do love that song and my favorite song is "Time" and also "More Than That".
Are you planning on touring with Brian when he goes on tour for Black & Blue?
I'm going to start off the tour and if we strike, I'll be on the tour as long as I can. I'll be there when I'm not working.
What would you like for fans to know about you?
Hmm. That I'm not mean, that I don't get on the internet and curse people out (laughs), that we really appreciate the support for Brian and just because he's married doesn't mean they have to stop liking him, and that we're just normal people.
STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 as she reveals the answers to:
When you first met the Backstreet Boys, was Brian the one you were initially attracted to?
I heard that you and Brian received death threats recently. Is this true?
What has been the most romantic thing that Brian has ever done for you?
