subject: the real world 10

Though I don't really like MTV's Real World in general, I did watch this season's premiere out of curiosity. Once again, MTV is not afraid to show its sole desire - the rating, by assemble this particular cast for a show that supposedly reflects real life. If you have seen the casting special, it shouldn't be a surprise to you that Lori and Kevin are bound to be in the same show, keeping the viewers wondering if they'll ever hook up or not? Admit it, that's basically what the whole season is about. You should also know that Rachel will end up on the show because MTV just LOVES to corrupt America's youth...remember Julie from last season? What a hypocrite! Growing up in Utah and having so many Mormon friends, I can tell you she gives Mormonism a bad name. As for Malik and Nicole, that's yet another love story waiting to happen. Shouldn't Sophia and Blair be on the show? Those two seem more real to me than most of this season's cast. Just when did the Real World become so predictable?

On the other hand, I am going to watch every episode since this cast IS entertaining, and is the best-looking yet in the show's history as far as I concern. Here is my little analysis of each character:

Mike: There is always the "quintessential all-American boy" who is supposedly going to learn the most from the show. Though he is pretty cute, I don't have a good impression of him after watching the season preview...is it even possible to NOT see any nudity on the show? He's just your typical cute guy...that's about it.

Coral: I like her a lot though she can seem a little intimidating at times. She is very intelligent, honest, blunt, and beautiful. Rock on!

Malik: His afro rocks! Don't ever change. He has a beautiful smile and seems very down-to-earth. He seems to have a calm nature, a good listener and doesn't like conflicts; someone easy to get along with.

Kevin: He impressed me mainly because of his story. I am 18, and how would I feel if someone told me I have cancer? He really has been through a lot, and his maturity makes him very attractive. In a guy's perspective, it probably isn't easy to resist Lori...but he did it...at least for now.

Lori: Yeah, I can see a little resemblance to Catherine Zeta-Jones. I think MTV should find more average-looking people for a show called "the real world," since most "real" people don't look like that. Rumour has it that Lori left the show (and Katie got in? you know, the girl who doesn't have any "deep stuffs?") and got a record deal. She deserves it though; she sure sounds better than Britney. I am intrigued by her.

Rachel: So far, I like her because she is innocent...but corruption is bound to happen. She's so much like me though; I too am VERY scared of big cities and have never taken public transportation alone. Going to LA should be interesting...

Nicole: "Is Nicole a Nick?" That's got to be the stupidest post I've read on MTV's real world message board. I don't understand why people are saying she is a drag queen? We just love to criticize other people, don't we? Leave that girl alone. But now I think about it, personality-wise, Nicole doesn't really stand out in comparison to some Road Rules members. I think it is bit surprising that she made it to the Real World. Do you think MTV picked her because she has a secret waiting to be revealed as a way to get more rating? After all, the channel will do ANYTHING for that..such as cancelling 2Gether. I am STILL very mad about that!!
