subject: gone with the wind

"Gone with the wind," how can I even begin to express how much I love this movie of civil war, love, human nature. This is definitely NOT an overrated film and should be watched by anyone who claims to be a movie lover. As I mentioned before, I am NOT a very patient person, and being able to sit through 4 hours and enjoying EVERY MINUTE of this incredible journey is not something an ordinary film can do.

There are SO many elements that make this film a classic – the cast, music, costumes, and so on, but to me, the story line of "Gone with the wind" is simply incomparable. A man of honor, a woman with true greatness, a ladies’ man, a girl with the big dream, all trapped in this love triangle. You just can’t get any better than this. And there is Clark Gable, who plays Rhett Butler in the film. Scarlet O’Hara seriously is blind; what does she see in Ashley when a true man like Rhett is around? But again, beauty is seen in the eyes of beholder…so I don’t think I can really blame her. Oh man, Clark Gable has to be the most handsome man I have ever seen. In contrast to the typical standard of attractiveness, Clark has this irresistible charisma, charm. From the way he delivers a speech, or how he presents himself, to his manners, everything about him is so exquisite. In all, every woman wants to marry Clark and every man wants to be him. As much as I respect Elvis, he gotta step aside.

Also, you know GWTW would not have been this big success without Vivien Leigh, who portrays the role of Scarlett O’Hara PERFECTLY. What a charmer is she! Scarlett has just the right amount of selfishness, innocence, arrogance, toughness in her that everyone can relate to. I am completely blown away by her acting skill and her beauty. I still don’t understand what is this huge deal about Marilyn Monroe...I am sorry if you are a fan, she looks pretty "average" to me. People like Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman will always be the quintessence of timeless beauty.

So my last words to you," Gone with the wind" will DEFINITELY exceed your expectation if you haven’t seen the film already. Forget about "Citizen Kane" or "The Godfather" ( no disrespect here), GWTW has everything you would ever want in a film. And next time you feel your world is going to collapse, just smile and say "frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn."
