"Brooke, come on,Sweetheart. We are going to be late!" Brian called to her.
Brooke was in the bathroom, putting her earrings in.
"Ok,ok,ok!I'm coming!I'm coming!"
They were going to a very boring sounding party for Brian's business.Brooke was wearing a white silk dress and her hair was done up and Brian was wearing a suit. The party was very formal.
They were late. They even had to pass up the limousine that had come to pick them up.They were going to take Brooke's car.
Brooke grabbed her purse and they ran out the door.
Brooke looked at Brian."You want to drive?" she asked him.
Brian took the keys from her. "Yea,I guess I should. I know the way.You can drive back."
So they got in and buckled up.It took about thirty minutes to drive there.
When they finally made it there, they parked and walked into a fancy brick building with lights and dull decorations all around.
Brian linked his arm through Brooke's and opened the door for her.
Brooke found herself in a very large room with tall ceilings and copper colored wall paper, and it smelled funny, like burnt coffee.
Brian led her into an even larger room with a huge table full of fancy food. That room was full of business people, standing around, drinking wine and talking.
Everything looked so boring and planned out. This wasn't the type of party Brooke was used to.Where was the DJ and disco lights?
Just then Brian spotted someone he obviously knew and pulled Brooke over towards him.
"Hello,Mr.Littrell.Who is your lady friend?" The man said, and smiled pleasantly at Brooke.
Brian placed his arm around her waist and said,"This is my date,Brooke."
Brooke extented her hand out to the man and he shook it with a tight grip.
Just then some uptight looking waitress thrust a glass of wine into Brooke and Brian's hands, and kept on walking through the crowd.Brooke looked and Brian, confused. He just shrugged his shoulders and took a sip of wine.
When the nerd-looking guy's beeper went off and he held up a finger to Brian and said,"Excuse me for a moment.",Brooke knew it was the perfect opportunity to get out of there. She grabed Brian's arm. "Can I see you for a sec?" She asked. "Yea,sure." Brian said, leading her away from the man,who was now talking on his cell phone.
"Um,I don't mean to be rude, but with all do respect...CAN WE LEAVE? This has been the most boring three and a half hours of my entire life."
Brian laughed. "I'm sorry, baby. Yes,we can leave right now. Let me just go tell a few people good-bye."
Well, those few people turned out to be a few hundred, and Brian had to take pictures and sign several autographs, but finally they were outside, heading for Brooke's car.
While they walked what seemed like a mile to Brooke's car, there was a beautiful woman, with curly blonde hair and big breasts, wearing a mini-skirt walking towards them.
"Hi." She said to Brian,in a sexy voice. Brian smiled politely.
"Hey." He replied.
"Are you Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys?" She asked, inching closer to him.She was about to put her arm on his back, but Brooke jumped in front of her.
"Excuse me!Back up off him,ok?" She said, getting in the girl's face.
The girl looked at Brian. "Is this your bitch?" She asked.
"Hey,don't call her that.We have to leave, come on Brooke."
Brooke walked with Brian, pushing the girl out the way.
"Bitch." The girl muttered under her breath. Brooke flipped her off, still walking.
Brian had his arm around Brooke, put she pushed him off and started to unlock her door.
Brian's face fell."What?" he asked. "What's wrong with you?"
Brooke cut him a look."What's wrong with you?" She asked, looking him up and down. Brian walked over to her. "Um,nothing. Why?"
"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about!I seen you looking at that little whore with wide eyes!" She yelled, just as lighting flashed and rain started pouring down, soaking Brooke's hair and making mascara run down the sides of her face. She started crying, and got in the car.
Brian jumped in,not wanting to be left there.Brooke had her head lying on the steering wheel.Brian went to put his hand on her arm,but without looking up,she said,"Don't touch me."
"Brooke, what are you talking about?" He asked.
"I mean,I know she looked a hell of a lot better than me,but did you have to make it so obvious?" She replied softly, looking up at him with innocent eyes.
Brooke,I'm-" Brooke cut him off. "No,don't say anything. You'll end up lying to me. Let's just leave." She started the car up.
"But-" He started to say again. "Stop it!" Brooke yelled, turning to him and giving him a look.Brian listened,in order to save the relationship. He had to admit,he did look at the girl, but he certainly didn't think she was more beautiful than Brooke.Brooke was more pretty than what she thought she was.Brooke is the most beautiful girl in the world to Brian. But she wouldn't let him explain that to her.
Brooke shoved her seatbelt on.She pulled out of the parking lot, squealing the tires and she turned out of the road. She barely even looked both ways before turning out onto the highway, squealing the tires again as she did so.
Brian grabbed onto the "oh shit" bar and gribbed the dashboard. "Damn girl. You think you want to slow down a little bit?" He asked.
Brooke slowed down and sniffed. "Brian,I am so sorry," she said, "I was a bitch back there. Please forgive me. I'm really sorry. It's just Steve used to always look at other girls and when you did---It gave me that sick feeling in my stomach. I'm rea-" Brian cut her off.
"It's ok,Brooke. Don't be so sorry. I understand how a bad pastlife could hurt someone a lot...even ruin their emotions and feelings. It's really ok."
Brooke smiled at Brian, then noticing a sign out the window. 'Welcome to Hidden Oaks' it read.
"Brian?Where are we?" She practically yelled.
Brian looked out the window. It was a completely deserted place. It looked like something from a horror movie. There were nothing but trees and paved roads up ahead,to the side and to the back. It didn't look at all familiar to Brian. He reached into his pockets.
"Shit! I forgot my cell phone!" He said, pulling stuff out of his pockets.
Brooke gasped. "You mean you don't know where we are?"
Brian was a little aggravated at the fact that they were lost,so he yelled. "No I don't know where we are at! But you just HAD to drive, didn't you? What the hell,Brooke?! Why didn't you just keep your eyes on the damn road and stop worrying about everything else?"
Brooke widened her eyes. "Uh.I um.But ah." She stuttered.
The engine roared and the lights flickered.Lighting crashed in the distance. The car died on a small hill.
Brooke turned the key off and then tried to crank it again. The engine sputtered and coughed, but it wouldn't crank. Then it started to rain.Bad.
"Shit, the sunroof is open.I can't close it because it's electric." Brooke said, desperately trying to crank the car back up.
"No shit, sherlock." Brian mumbled. Then he looked at the gas meter. It was on 'emty'.
Brian groaned. "This is just great."
"Brian.I'm sorry. This isn't my fault." Brooke said, near tears.
"Is that all you can do?Cry?That doesn't help anything. Why didn't you get gas in it?"
"Excuse me,but I haven't even been driving it,so it's not my place to fill the tank.Shove it up your ass. You're just pissed because we are lost." Brooke crossed her arms and layed her seat back and closed her eyes.
Brian sat up suddenly. "Oh SHIT!!!!" He yelled.Brooke sat up fast.
"Oh my God!!We are on a train track! But there are no red lights or no red and white stripped things that are supposed to come down!" She exclaimed.
"That is because we are out in the middle of nowhere!Oh My God!!!Brooke a train's coming.Get out fast!"
Brian unbuckled quickly and started trying to unlock the door.It didn't work because it was automatic doorlocks and it wouldn't work unless the engine was on.
He moved over to the middle of the seat and kicked the window out.It shattered everywhere. He tore out the pieces that was left with his hands so it wouldn't cut him when he went out of it.
He carefully climbed out of the window as the train was approaching.Fast.He looked over at Brooke, horrified at what he saw.
"Brian! My seat belt is stuck!Come help me!Hurry!" She yelled,as she eagerly tugged at her seat belt.Brian ran over to her side of the car.The train's horn went off loudly, causing Brooke to break out in tears.
Brian jerked at the seat belt as hard as he could. It would not budge.
"Fuck,Brooke.Try to climb out of it!" He yelled over the rattling of the train track.
Brooke sucked in her stomach as much as she could and tried to lift herself out of the seat belt.
"It's too tight!" She screamed. The train was now about 30 feet away. The lights from it blinded her.She knew she was about to die.
"It's getting really close!Come on,Brooke! You can do it! Get out, baby! Please!!!" Brian said. He then opened her door and climbed over her and opened the glove compartment. He reached in and grabbed a knife that was underneath the insurance book and things. He tore it out of it's holder, then climbed back out as quickly as he could. He sawed at the seat belt. "SHIT! This knife is a piece of dull shit!" He exclaimed, still desperately sawing away. He looked up at Brooke. Her eyes were closed and she was crying. It looked as though she was praying.
The train was really close now.Brian could feel the vibration from it.
Just then he felt hands surround his head. They were Brooke's.
"Brian.Get away! Please.Go!" She said, clutching his shirt and pulling him in to kiss her.
"No,I can't!" Brian said, tears flowing down his worried face.
"Go,Brian! If you loved me you would go!"
"No!I can't do it!"
The train was almost to the car. "Brian!PLEASE go! Don't do this!"
"Baby,I love you.I can't live without you!"
"Yes you can.And you will.Just get away right now!!!"
Brian jumped away into the woods just as the train took the little car into it's teeth and threw it about fifty feet into the air with such an impact that Brian covered his face and screamed,"No God No!!"
There was a sound of metal colliding and glass breaking.Brian heard the love of his life scream in horror and pain, but he couldn't bear to look.
Brian cried and prayed for this to all be a bad dream. This couldn't be happening. But when he opened his eyes,he found that his nightmare was real life as the little car layed in the grass, looking like a piece of balled up paper. He knew no one could have survived something like that, until he heard a girl crying softly and said,"Brian?"
Brian jumped up and ran towards the direction that sound came from.He seen Brooke crawling with one arm towards him and coughing up thick, red blood.
Brian ran to her and threw himself on the ground beside her.He pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight.
"Brooke, are you ok? Baby, tell me you're ok." He pleaded as he gently rocked her.
Brooke looked up at him with dying eyes.He was all blurry and she seen about three of him. There wasn't a place on her that wasn't covered in blood.A bloody tear made it's way down her bloody face.
"Brian," She said, weakly. "Don't let me die. Please don't let me die." She said,as her slow tears turned to sobs.Brian cried his heart out and reached into his pocket for his cell phone and quickly dialed 911. It was hard for him to explain where he was located, because he didn't even know, but he did his best to discribe it.
After he hung up,he looked down at his baby. Her eyes rolled back into her head. Brian shook her and said,"Look.Look!Look at me,Brooke."
"Brian!I hurt so bad.Everywhere.I am not going to make it.I-I-I just want you to know that I love you and thank you for saving me from-" She cut off as she just stared past Brian's shoulder. He cried and cried as he hugged her. "Please please please please please" He kept repeating to himself as he heard Brooke's strained breathing.
Brian stayed by her side until the paramedics put her on the stretcher and quickly drove off. He just watched it. The lights. The sirens. This couldn't be real.It just had to be a bad dream that he hoped he would soon wake up.
A police officer then walked up behind him and put his hand on his shoulder. "You alright, buddy?" He asked.Brian shrugged. "I don't know, man. It depends on if she will be alright." The policeman nodded his head as if he understood exactly what Brian was feeling.
Then another policeman walked over to Brian and the other cop.
"Well, from the looks of it,when the impact of the train hit the car,the young woman flew out of the sun roof before the car hit the ground. If she would have been in it,it would have killed her instantly." He told Brian./
"But..The seatbelt was locked up. I tried to get it undone before the train came. But,it was jammed or something." Brian said,it hurting him to think that he actually let Brooke stay in that vehicle when he knew what was about to happen. He shook his head and looked down at his feet.Hot tears ran down his cheeks. Then he looked up at the drizzling sky.
"Please let her be ok. Please,God let her be ok." Then the first policeman hugged Brian hard. "Come on. I will take you to the hospital." And they walked to the police car slowly.
Brian got in,not bothering to wear his seatbelt and the policeman drove away, leaving the horrible nightmare behind. Brian wished he were in the car with Brooke. If only it would have been his seat belt that didn't open.If he hadn't been arguing with her, they would have not even got lost.He should have never went to the stupid party. If only things would have been done differently. The smallest thing could have stopped Brian's baby from getting hurt. Why did things have to happen the way they did? That's all Brian thought about the whole way to the hospital. If only he would have drove,he would be the one in the ambulance right now.If only...
