Brian closed his eyes as he splashed the cool water on his face.It felt so good after what happened that day.He rested his hands on the sink and looked at himself in the mirror.He was in the hospital bathroom.He had to get away from that waiting room for awhile.It was beginning to take an affect on his body.
Brian groaned as he popped his aching neck.Then he sighed and wiped away the dripping water from his face with the back of his hand.Then he walked slowly back to the waiting room.
Brian never made it to the waiting room.The doctor stopped him halfway down the hall.
"Mr.Littrell?" The doctor said,touching his arm.Brian just looked at him. "Mr.Littrell,I've been looking for you.I need to talk to you.Come have a seat." The doctor led him to the waiting room.It was still empty.Brian sat down in a chair by the window and just looked at the doctor.'Please,oh please don't let it be anything bad.' Brian silently prayed.
The doctor sat down beside Brian. "Ok,I just looked at some test results and I found Droplyisis in her system.Droplyisis is a serious rape drug.It's only effective if inhaled.And from the looks of it,Brooke inhaled a good bit.We thought she was unconscious because of the fall she took.Now it's obvious that she passed out because of the drug.We can flush it out of her system,and she should wake up.We hope she'll be ok,but she may have some internal bleeding,or possible brain damage.Like I said before,she inhaled a lot,but let's hope for the best."
Brian sat there in total shock.This night kept getting worse.Would it ever end?
"Anything,let me know." Brian snapped back to attention.The doctor had been talking.Brian just nodded,his eyes seemed to not want to close.They just stared past the doctor's shoulder.
"You can go home and get some rest if you want.I can get someone to call you if anything happens." Brian shook his head quickly.That was out of the question. "No,I think I'm just going to stay here.She needs me." He replied.
"Ok,that's just fine.Just grab a nurse if you need something." Brian nodded again. The doctor left the room,closing the door softly behind him.
Brian must have sat there for an hour,just staring at the same place he had been since the doctor told him the news.It was all so unbelievable.
"Hey,Brian." Brian looked up at the door at the mention of his name.AJ and Nick were standing at the door,not sure if it was ok to come in or not. "Hey guys.What are you doing here?" Brian questioned,guesturing for them to sit.
They took seats by Brian. "We came to see how you were doing.How is everything?" Nick asked,concerned. "Not good." Brian sighed deeply,then proceeded to tell them everything that happened that day,including the kiss.
AJ lowly whistled. "I don't know man,but I wouldn't be with someone if they cheated on me like that." Brian shook his head. "It's not like that.You don't understand what she had to go through." Nick patted Brian's shoulder,"But dude,she freakin' cheated on you with this guy,Steve.If she hadn't,she wouldn't be here.It's her own fault." Brian shrugged Nick's hand away. "I love her."
AJ and Nick exchanged a glance.Brian was in love? Oh boy.
"Guys,it's just-it's so amazing.I mean,we always sing about it,but I never felt it before.It's the greatest feeling in the world.All I want to do is be with her.Love her.Take care of her.Hold her.Tell her everything is going to be alright.And at the moment I seen her fall to the ground,I was helpless.I felt just like someone took my heart and butchered it with a knife.Honestly.I really love her.And I'm not leaving." Brian slowly looked up at AJ.He had been staring at the floor the whole time he was saying those things,now he needed a reaction.
AJ nodded."Whoa,dude.I didn't know it was anything like that.I'm sorry." Nick agreed,"Yea,Brian.It's ok.Don't worry,we are not going to let Cliff jump down your throat anymore." Brian smiled a little. "Thanks,guys.Well,I'm kinda tired." He said,followed with a yawn.Nick and AJ yawned,too.It's funny how yawning is contagious. "Alright.We're gonna go then.You stayin' here?" AJ asked,standing up. Brian nodded. "Ok,call us if anything happens." Then they left.
Brian got settled in a hard little chair and closed his eyes.He thought about what he had said to AJ and Nick.Yep,he was in love.And it was very difficult at this moment.But it was the greatest thing in his life.
As Brian was about to dose off,he thought about how many times Brooke had been hurt.Why does it happen to the poor girl?Why not Brian.He wished it was his turn.
