Brian pulled his truck into the driveway to his house and turned off the engine.They got out and walked it.
Brian had such a cute little house.Brooke sat down on the couch and Brian went into the kitchen.
"You want something to drink?"Brian called to her from the kitchen. "No thanks!" She called back.
Brian came into the room with a glass of lemonade and a cookie."You sure?"He asked.She nodded.
Brian sat down."You want a cookie?" Brooke shook her head.
Brian turned on the tv and they watched Austin Powers.
Twenty minutes later they were both practically bawling with laughter.Brooke had tears in her eyes she was laughing so hard.
After the movie ended,they decided to go to sleep.
"Where do I sleep?"Brooke asked.
"It doesn't matter to me.Where do you want to sleep at?"
Brooke shrugged."I'll take the couch,I guess."
Brian tried to hide his disappointment.It's not that he wanted to do anything with Brooke,but he wanted her to feel as if she needed him,in case she got scared in the middle of the night.
"Ok,I'll go get you some blankets and pillows."He said.
"Oh,Brian.Do you mind if I take a shower?"Brooke asked.
"No,not at all.Down the hall and to the right"Brian replied.
"Ok,thanks"Brooke said,walking down the hall.
A little while later,Brian was laying on his bed,reading something,when he heard,"Ahem"
He looked up.He was surprised to see Brooke standing there in only a fluffy white towel.
"I'm so dumb.I forgot I didn't have any clothes" Brooke said,embarassed.
Brian tossed her a pair of his sweat pants and a t-shirt."Here you go.Wear these tonight and tomorrow I will go buy you some clothes,ok?"
Brooke smiled."Ok,thanks Brian."She went back into the bathroom.
About 15 minutes later,she came out.Brian cracked up laughing.She looked so cute in his clothes.They were all baggy on her little body.
She smiled at him."Goodnight,Brian,"She said,walking out of his room.He watched her walk away.
"Uh,goodnight,"He said,still watching her walk.He slowly eased himself into his bed.
Brooke layed on Brian's couch and just stared at the ceiling for the longest time.She wasn't tired,so she focused on this little tiny spot on Brian's ceiling and tried to figure out what it was.Just before she dozed off,she thought it kind of looked like a mayonnaise stain,but on the ceiling?She just turned on her side and fell asleep.
Brooke heard someone walking.She opened her eyes.She was still on Brian's couch,so she figured it was Brian getting up to go to the bathroom or something.
But she just stared at the two legs in front of her.They weren't moving and they didn't look too much like Brian's.She slowly moved her eyes up the person's body.The closer she got to it's face,the more scared she got.
Up,up her eyes went.When she got to the face,it was Steve!She tried to scream,but no sound came out.She tried to move,but her body felt paralyzed.Steve took his hands and put them on Brooke's neck and started choking her.
Harder and harder he pushed down on her neck.The tighter he got,the less she could breathe.
Brooke woke up with a halt.She was breathing heavy and even though it was a dream,she still felt as if Steve was in the room.She looked around and waited for her eyes to get used to the dark.Then she slowly walked down the hall to Brian's room.
She felt someone breathing down her neck.She quickly turned around.No one was there.Then she walked fast to Brian's room the rest of the way.
She slowly creaked the door open.Fortunately,Brian just got up to get some water and he was awake.
"Oh,Brian!",Brooke ran to Brian with open arms.She told him all about the dream and how she felt like Steve was still watching her.
Brian kissed her forehead."It's ok.You can sleep in my bed.Steve will not hurt you anymore.I promise."
So they settled in Brian's bed,each of them on opposite ends,so it wouldn't feel wrong.Brooke imagined they probably looked really weird if someone was to see them from the ceiling,both of them practically hanging off each end of the bed.
Brian got the remote to his cd player and turned the radio on.
The soft music filled the room and Brooke felt so safe and protected with Brian there.She smiled and turned over on her stomach.
