They Boys recently took home the Best Group Award at the EMAs. It was well deserved. Don't forget to catch them tomorrow helping Carson Daly host the "100 Greatest Pop Songs." They are also on the cover of Rolling Stone so go pick that up. Plus, Brian said recently that Nick wanted him to tell everyone that Nick, AJ, and Howie are currently single. LoL...how cute was that?

"Black and Blue" is now out! Go and get you copy! I got mine today and it is so incredibly awesome! I love it! It's as wonderful as always. Great work by the guys. They wrote a lot of the songs on this one and it just makes it better. Let's help them retain their spot on the top of the records list!

Don't forget to watch the Boys on TRL today and then for Making the Video for "Shape of My Heart." I must say that I really love this song. "Black and Blue" is set to be released November 21. The Boys are currently in the studio in Sweden. We can look for that album in October or at the first of the year. I hear they are trying to write most of their songs themselves. Whether they do or not, it's going to be another smash album. I can't wait!!!

Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean's mama,Denise, says reports that he is engaged to his longtime Orlando girlfriend, actress/singer Amanda Latona, are not true. And neither is the one that Latona is pregnant. Two of his bandmates -- Kevin Richardson and his cousin Brian Littrell -- are, however, still spoken for. The boys are in the Bahamas working on their next album.

Brian and Leighanne had an unforntunate run-in recently. They were going to K-Mart to buy some things for their pool. They tried to enter K-Mart with security but were recognized by fans and mobbed. While they were trying to talk with the fans, another customer decided he would try to take advantage of the commotion and attempt to steal a tv. He failed and was caught. Poor guy! Can't even go to K-Mart without getting mobbed! Of course, my next thought is, would going to K-Mart with a group of security not draw attention to yourself? Hmm....

The guys are now in the Bahamas recording their next album which is due sometime this fall around October. Can't wait for that! Howie was the tv show "Roswell" last Monday night. I hope you all had a chance to see that. He was at the very end and said the last three works of the show. He played a head alien.

Well, I have some news that doesn't make the Boys sound too good. It has to do with a quote AJ said about NSYNC. Here's what the article said and his quote. I found it on Wall of Sound website.
"'N Sync Talks Backstreets, Sales, Britney, Film" During his recent run of charity shows, Johnny No-Name (a k a the Backstreet Boys' A.J. McLean) promised fans that when the Boys' new album comes out in October, 'N Sync will be saying "Bye, Bye, Bye" to its first-week sales record of nearly 2.4 million copies of No Strings Attached. 'N Sync, however, doesn't really consider those fighting words. "I feel a little sorry for them," says the group's Joey Fatone, "just for the fact that they have to prove something. They're very successful at what they do, and very talented." Adds Lance Bass, "It's funny. I wish we wouldn't have broken the record, because now it's going to be this focus every time someone releases an album, with [Britney Spears'] next album and everything. Then you lose the whole effect of the music. "The thing is, if [the Backstreet Boys] don't break the record in October, what does that mean? Does it mean the album's going to suck? It's going to be good. I just hope if they don't break it, people still get it. That doesn't mean that it's not good." During a lengthy teleconference Tuesday, Fatone and Bass revealed a plethora of plans that will keep 'N Sync busy well into 2001, including a world tour, a movie, and a third album that may include a collaboration with Spears, who co-starred on The New Mickey Mouse Club with 'N Syncers Justin Timberlake and J.C. Chasez and who is slated to be 'N Sync's tour partner in Europe during October.
One thing that's not so good about this is that NSYNC has not said anything bad about rivals the BSB. BSB has had some bad things to say about NSYNC. I don't think AJ's quote and NSYNC's response makes the BSB sound too good. My opinion: There's enough room for both groups to make and sell music and both be successful.

The Backstreet Boys are launching their own comic book and animated series. I'm sure most of you know that Nick is behind most of this. He has been wanting to do a comic book of the guys for a while now. BSB joined forces with Stan Lee and now it's a reality. Each Boy has his own superhero power. Well, I'm sure most of you caught the American Music Awards. The BSB won one award for BEST GROUP and Howie was there to accept it. He was very excited about the win! He said in his acceptance speech that they were in between tours and the rest of the guys were on vacation. It's a well-deserved rest!!
