Tony Smith

bat

This will be Tony’s third year as a captain.  He is a natural born leader on and off the baseball field.  Tony is a very hard worker as well as a very talented ballplayer.  He takes charge behind the plate and his teammates feed off of his confidence.  Tony has a gun for an arm and can throw runners out attempting to steal some bases.  He hits for average, behind hitters, has power, and lightening fast speed.  Tony makes catching a foul pop fly behind home plate look like it's easy.

Tony will be seeing time in the outfield as the Panthers utilize his ability to track down fly balls.  Even though Tony would like to catch every pitch of every game, he knows his time in the outfield will help his team win games.

Tony was named Co-MVP last year because he is such an important and valuable asset to the Panthers.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and it’s current president.  He lettered in soccer and is also involved in many other school activities including Academic All-Stars.
