"Jessica..we need to talk..now." Charlene said getting up from the table. I looked at Nick and he turned away, then I looked at AJ telling him with my eyes to see what was wrong. I followed Charlene into the ladies bathroom.
"What the hell was that?" She asked me.
"What was what?" I asked.
"You know what! You told me you didn't like him, Jessica." She said staring at me.
"I don't..well..I do but.." I said not knowing what to say.
"You do..I can tell." She said with a small smile.
"But you like him! You had him first! I.."
"YOU had him first. I was a bitch to the man!" She said and laughed. "If you like him..go get him..you deserve to be happy."
"So do you! Besides..he doesn't like me like that..we are friends.." I said looking down at the tile floor.
"Trust me..he likes you..did you see how he looked at Nick when you guys were talking? He wanted to kill him!"
"Really?" I asked smiling.
"Yes..really." She said back.
"OK..but not tonight." I said. I didn't think I would be able to talk to AJ after that dance. With that we went back to the table.
"Welcome back." AJ said as we sat down. I just smiled. I was too nervous to talk. I sat with my drink in silence.
"I'm not feeling too good..do you think we could go?" Charlene asked.
"Yea sure." AJ said. I got up and followed them out of the club. Before we got to the car I asked Nick if I could talk to him for a minute. He agreed and we walked away from the car.
"I just wanted to tell you I-" I started to say but was cut off.
"I know..you like AJ..and its fine..I just wish everything works out with you two." Nick said and smiled. I looked at him shocked.
"How did you know?" I asked.
"It's easy to tell..and to let you in on a little secret..He like's ya too." He told me. I laughed and gave him a hug.
"You BackStreet Boys are alright." I said as we walked back to the car. He laughed and gave me another hug.
"Wait til ya meet the rest..We're quite a bunch." I smiled. We were at the car by now and everyone piled in. I kept trying to get eye contact with AJ in the mirror but I couldn't. We got to our house without much talking. I gave Nick my number and told him to keep in touch and then a hug.
"Bye Jess.." He said then whispered. "Good Luck" I smiled and said Bye.
"Bye Alex." I said before stepping out of the car. I heard a dull "Bye" before shutting the door. We walked to the door and I turned around to see one last glimpse of the car before it turned the corner.
