Chapter 17

After staying a week at the Carter Ranch, Nick and Gina had left to rejoin the BSB tour. They returned refreshed, relaxed and more in love with each other than they'd ever been. The tour was a major success and not just for the boys but for Gina as well, who had had time to release a second song in the states, 'Where you are' that video was so beautiful. It was aired all over the world on the same day...and on that day everyone in the world knew of the magnitude of Gina and Nick's love for one another. It kept the two of them going, and it made them happier than they'd ever been.

She watched the house from her vantage point in the big pine tree next to the house. Anytime now the devil's spawn of Selena's would be arriving. She fingered her powerful rifle reverently. Soon, very soon. And she would kill them all, finishing off the family that had made her life a living hell.

Inside the house Chris and Mia sat beside each other, completely enraptured in the video currently on the screen. Abraham came in then and saw what was on the screen...and he could scarcely believe it. There were Nick and Gina, singing to each other a passionate love song about Gina being grief-stricken after Nick's death and Nick coming down from heaven to comfort her. He could see the real-life tears in their eyes as if the thought of losing each other was the one thing that scared them most in life. And it made him seethe with anger to know that Gina was headed down the same path as her mother. 'Love' did not exist. He would do anything and everything in his power to end the relationship and now.

Suddenly they heard a noise in their driveway like a large vehicle was pulling in. Mia went to the window to scope it out and gasped. Chris and Abraham automatically rushed to the window and they too were struck in disbelief. There parked in their driveway was the enormous BSB tour bus. The doors opened and a tall, slim dark haired girl jumped off the bus, and headed for their door. She opened it without knocking. Upon seeing her grandfather, Gina flew into a rage. "You," she hissed. She removed her stylish sunglasses to reveal two large dark eyes, so much like Selena's... but these eyes were flashing with anger. In fact her entire body language screamed outrage.

"Gina?" Abraham asked softly.

"Yes, old man it is your 'long lost granddaughter', the stillborn. Remember that? How dared you do that to my mama, huh? I missed out on having a normal childhood because of your selfishness! And now I'll bet that you disagree about Nick and my's relationship, well I'll tell you something that my mother never could. Stop meddling in my life. You've done enough damage already. I am seventeen bloody years old practically and I know where I wanna go in life." she snapped, eyes flashing dark fire.

Abraham gaped. He had never known that she knew. She had known all along and said nothing. "Gina'" he said calmly, "I was only doing what I thought was best for you-" she cut him off.

"Yeah right. All you ever cared about was yourself, same with my mother. Well let me tell you something. They don't call me spitfire for nothing. Unlike my poor mother, I have a spirit that NO man can ever break, not even you. And I'd like to see you try!" she sneered at him.

His long burning anger ignited into a roaring blaze. "Gina you will not see that boy again."

Gina only sneered back. "The hell I won't. And he's not a boy..." she closed her eyes. She knew that she was about to say the biggest lie she had ever told, but it was necessary. "And he's sure as hell proved that in more ways than one." she said. Abraham swore he saw red. He ran down the stairs into his basement where he collapsed onto his leather couch.

Meanwhile Nick had heard the yelling and had come running into the house. Gina flew into his arms and would not let him go. "He's an asshole Nick, he's an ass!" she cried before running out of the house. Nick followed hot on her heels, sprinting after his beloved.

She exhaled. It was now or never. She jumped down from the tree and opened fire on the bitch. When the smoke cleared, she saw that she had hit the wrong damn person. Oh well, that boyfriend of hers had been an annoying obstacle anyway. She saw Gina in the middle of the road. When she had heard the gunfire, she had turned around to see her beloved Nickers struck down, a stream of blood slowly slithering it's way down the driveway. Tears blinded her eyes. She called out "Nooooooooo!!!!" Then she heard the telltale toot of a large horn right behind her. But by the time she'd turned around, it was too late. The huge tractor trailer struck her down, hard against the pavement on her head. Her eyes closed and her face fell sideways. Yolanda grinned like a fool. Good. She didn't have to waste any more bullets. Suddenly she heard the screams of horror-stricken neighbors. Quickly she climbed back up the tree and leapt from tree to tree until she was home free.
