CHIP & NUT CAKE

ingredients
2 sticks butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 pint (8 ounces) sour cream
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbs baking powder
1 cup chopped walnuts
6 ounces chocolate chips

directions

            In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
            In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
            Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream into cream mixture, adding dry ingredients
            first and last.  Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.
            Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.  Bake at 325 degrees for approximately
            1 hour 15 minutes.  Let cool in pan about 20 minutes then remove from pan and let finish
            cooling on rack.
