Cinnamon Swirl Cake

Ingredients
3 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter or margarine
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
Swirl and topping: 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

      In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add one egg at a time, beating well
      after each addition.  Stir in vanilla.
      In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Add dry ingredients
      alternately with sour cream -- flour mixture added first and last -- to cream mixture.
      Pour half of the batter into a well greased and floured tube pan.  Marbelize 2/3 of the swirl and
      topping mixture.  Pour remaining batter in pan then sprinkle top with remaining swirl and topping
      mixture. (At this point, chopped walnuts and chocolate chips may be sprinkled on top as well, if so
      preferred).
      Bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 50 minutes.  Let cool on rack then remove from pan.
