ALMOND CRESCENT COOKIES

ingredients
1 cup butter
3/4 cup confectioner's sugar
2/3 cup finely chopped almonds
21/4cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt

directions

    Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add almonds, flour and salt.  Mix thoroughly.
    Divide in half, flatten and wrap each half in plastic wrap.  Chill at least one hour.  Roll out and cut into
    2" x 1/2" strips.  Form into a crescent shape and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at
    325 degrees for approximately 12 minutes. Let cool and transfer to wire rack.  When thoroughly cooled
    sprinkle generously with additional confectioner's sugar.  Store in tightly covered container.
