KRUSCIKI

ingredients
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 dozen egg yolks
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon sour cream or 2 tablespoons sweet cream
1/4 cup rye whiskey
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 quarts oil
1 box confectionary sugar

directions

     Sift dry ingredients twice.  Combine sour cream (or sweet cream) with egg yolks.  Add whiskey,
     vanilla and melted butter.  Gradually add dry ingredients to liquid mixture.  Mix well.  Roll out
     dough paper thin, shape and bake in oil 10 - 12 at a time in large roasting pan on stove top.


3 1/2" wide x 1" high
 pull one end thru cut in center

     Krusciki get a little larger while baking. They bake quickly.  A few seconds after they rise to the
     top of oil, turn.  Bake a few seconds longer and drain on paper towels.
     DO NOT BROWN!  When cool, sprinkle with confectionary sugar and store in covered tin.
     (Note: if oil gets brown, change it!)
