The Entrance Into Life
John 3:1-21

Sermon Outline From The Morning Service - 20 August 2000

I. The Necessity of New Birth (Verse 3)

There are different kingdoms of life, vegetable, animal, human, spiritual.
Each are entered into by birth. - So, Jesus said, "Ye must be born again."

II. The Nature of the New Birth (vs 4-6)

How can we be born again?

New Birth is not:

1. Joining a church
2. Being baptized
3. turning over a new leaf

New Birth is:

1. Birth
2. New Birth
3. Miraculous Birth
4. Birth from above, birth from God

III. The Accomplishment of New Birth (vs 14-16)

Two things are required:

1. Son of Man must be lifted up vs 14
Jesus was put on the cross bearing our sin and meeting the required sacrifice.

2. We must look to Him in faith vs 15,16 accepting him as our subsitute.

IV. The Consequences of New Birth

1. We enter God's Kingdom. vs 5
2. We become part of God's Family. John 1:12
3. We become partakers of God's nature. I Peter 1:4
4. We gain eternal life. John 3:15,16
5. We are removed from condemnation. John 3:18
