We believe the Bible should be the source of every sermon, the textbook in every Sunday School class, and the guide for every discussion group. More than that, we feel that the Bible ought to be the standard for each personal life. In the Bible, you will find the answer to life's perplexing problems.
Independent Baptists have existed in New Zealand for almost two decades. Local churches may now be found in most major centres from Whangerei to Invercargill. Each is an independent and self governing congregation, not associated with any world or national council of churches, but in fellowship with other assemblies of like faith and practice.
The Independent Baptist Church in its year eighth of ministry in Invercargill. We are part of the world-wide church planting effort of Baptist Mid-Missions, a Bible believing ministry with over 1300 workers in more than 40 countries including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.
We offer a distinctively non-charismatic, practical, Bible-centred ministry leading to personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, equipping modern man to live victoriously in today's complex society.
We firmly believe in the historic fundamentals of the Christian faith including the Inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, the Virgin Birth and Deity of Christ, His Substitutionary Atonement for the sins of mankind, His Bodily Resurrection, and His Visible, Premillennial Return to Earth, unashamedly preaching the good news of Salvation by Grace through Faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ.
