LL rips MTV HipHopOpen 2001 in Stuttgart - July 02

                                      


In an atmosphere of thunderstorms, lightening and heavy rain showers, LL Cool J performed live before thousands in Stuttgart, Germany at the Annual MTV HipHopOpen 2001 last night, June 30th. In a dynamic return to the stage, LL along with longtime friend and DJ, Cut Creator delivering a devastating show of classical and contemporary hiphop for nearly an hour.

According to reports, LL (who headlined the event) performed songs from his first classic album "Radio" to his latest number one, "GOAT," mesmerizing the audience with his awesome stage presence, lyrical deftness, vocal delivery and microphone skills. Along the way, he drop several new joints, including the club banger, "Put Your Hands Up," "The Def Jam Sampler Freestyle," and others. LL also previewed snippets of several songs, that seems to be a part of his new upcoming and final album for Def Jam. The album will be executively produced by Ruff Ryders' Swizz Beatz. LL also performed a new single with a great beat called "Blink, Blink" with Spax, a upcoming German rapper. The show was excellent and the crowd felt the essence of LL's greatness.

Apart from Spax, other European performers, included Jan Delay, Afrob, Sammy Deluxe, Massive Tone, Freeman (I Am), Blumentopf, Gentleman, Seeed, Curse, Meli/Skills En Masse, Kool Savas, SeKOU, Teflou and Jaleel, Double Pact, Breite Seite and Clueso.

MTV HipHopOpen 2001 was held at the Kickers Stadion Waldau in Stuttgart Germany and is promoted and sponsored by 310-K, Drum, Das Ding, MTV, Intro, Juice and Prinz.
