Since the remastered version of ABBA Gold, released in March 1999, became such a big success, Universal decided to re-release the deleted album More ABBA Gold as well. Originally released in 1993, More ABBA Gold is a companion album that collects the numerous hits that were not included on ABBA Gold, together with some single B-sides and album tracks.
The
decision to release a remastered version was made in late May 1999, and I was
asked to write new liner notes. The new edition of More ABBA Gold contains the full-length
versions of The Visitors and Lovelight,
as opposed to the edits that were on the original release.
More ABBA
Gold (Polydor 519 353-2), remastered in 24 bit, was
released on 26th July 1999 in the UK, with other territories following.
Unfortunately,
due to a technical error, some dashes in the liner notes went missing when they
were printed in the booklet.
The Australian version of the
remastered More ABBA Gold (Polydor 547 922-2) features a slightly
different track listing, and the liner notes have been somewhat confusingly
altered by Universal in Australia to
reflect this change.
