Nick Cater and his friend Chris Staph were sitting in Nick’s living room. They were talking about Nick’s long time girlfriend, Amanda Morgetti. They have been going out for four years and Nick, more than anything, wanted to propose to her.“Chris, man, I really want to propose to her, but I have no idea what I should do. I mean, I love her more than anything, but what if it’s the wrong thing to do, even though I’m more than 100% sure that it’s the right thing to do I...” Nick spoke uncontrollably and Chris had to stop him.
“Nick! Calm down! Just think things through. Personally, I think she is the one for you. As much as your fans are, without a doubt, going to be pretty pissed, I think it’s the right thing to do.”
Chris’s soothing words helped Nick realize that Amanda is everything to him. That he would fly around to world just to look into her beautiful blue eyes and tell her how much he loved her. “Chris, I’m going to do it! I’m going to design her engagement ring and propose to her on our four year anniversary: Valentines Day!”
Chris was so happy that Nick had found the girl of his dreams. He had been through a lot of hard times. Most girls only wanted to be with him because he was Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, but Amanda was different. He met her during a photo shoot in Los Angeles. He thought back to when he had met her. He remembered seeing that long, straight, dark brown hair and crystal blue eyes that could melt a stoic man’s heart. He remembered how she looked up at him and looked deep into his eyes. He reminisced how she slowly got up on her tiptoes in order for them to share their fist kiss. He would never forget how her lips met his for the first time on New Years when the clock struck twelve. He had butterflies in his stomach, which had never happened to him while kissing someone. Suddenly he was brought back to reality by the sound of Chris’s voice.
“Nick! Nick! Man! Nickolas! SNAP OUT OF IT MAN!!” Chris could have said this until he was blue in the face, but he only got a shrug out of Nick. Chris than shook his head and said, “Nick, man, I have to go, but I’ll call you later to see how things are going.”
“Alright. See you later,” Nick simply responded. Nick rushed to the phone and designed Amanda’s ring. He told them exactly what he wanted. “Yes... That’s right... A three carrot white diamond... A single cut... Four .5 diamonds on each side...Yes... Set in platinum...Okay...I don’t care how much it costs...Yes...Thank you very much!” After that, he hung up the phone. He just purchased her a $55,000 ring. A few moments later Amanda came through the door. “Hey baby,” Nick said, thrilled to see her.
“Hey, honey,” replied Amanda. They stood there hugging. Amanda’s head was on his chest because he was six foot two and she was only 5 foot. “Our four year anniversary is two weeks from tomorrow!” Amanda said happily, while holding Nick’s hands as if waiting for him to do something.
Nick picked her up and sat her on the counter. “I know baby, and I can’t wait. It’s going to be just you and me. I have something special planned for us,” said Nick with a smile going from ear to ear.
“What do you have planned?” Amanda asked, waiting for the answer.
Nick replied by saying, “I can’t tell you. You’re going to have to wait.”
Amanda got all pouty. “But that’s not fair.”
“I never said anything was going to be fair,” Nick said as he placed his hands on her knees while she sat up on the counter. Nick started to think about his proposal to her and he got a ‘spaced-out’ look. Amanda got curious.
“Baby, what are thinking about? You have this really weird look on your face.” “Huh? Wha-? Oh, nu…Nothing...Nothing,” Nick said, while thinking ooh real smooth Nick real smooth. That’s it, stumble over your words and look spaced out. Real bright!
“Are you sure you’re okay?” asked Amanda.
“Yeah honey, I’m sure, “ Nick answered, a little more confident of himself this time. Nick helped Amanda off the counter. “What do you want to do regarding dinner?” questioned Nick, his eyes never leaving hers.
Amanda answered saying, “ How about we order a pizza and watch a movie.”
“Sounds great!” answered Nick, thinking that’s probably what he would’ve thought of. Nick kissed Amanda so passionately. Pretty soon her toes started to hurt from standing on them to kiss Nick, so she stood flat which broke the fairy-tale kiss. Nick picked her up and placed her on the counter so neither of them would have to do any work. They kissed like that for another five minutes until Nick realized that he had to call the pizza place. He slowly broke the kiss and called. The pizza arrived twenty minutes later. When Nick was on his third slice, Amanda had just finished her first. After eating only one slice she was done.
