* 3 months later *It was one month that the Boys were back on tour. Nick and Amanda decided that Amanda would stay home with the baby as not to expose Savannah to all the germs and different surroundings that may make her feel uncomfortable. Nick called as much as possible, but that didn’t satisfy him or Amanda. They wanted to be on each other's arms. They wanted to have intimacy; make love.
Jessica stayed with Amanda so she’d have someone to talk to. She stayed at Amanda’s house to help her take care of the baby. It wasn’t easy, but they got through the days that seemed to go by like a slow motion replay at a football game. The days and months passed. It was now one week before the Boys would come home. Savannah was now seven months old. They had been on tour for five months straight. The week went somewhat fast. It was the day of their arrival.
Amanda and Jessica frantically got ready along with Savannah. They got into Amanda’s other car, her silver Mercedes-Benz CLK. They got to the closed off airport and showed the guards their V.I.P (Very Important Person) passes. They waited forty-five minutes and than they saw the private plane that said Backstreet Boys on the side. The guys walked through and ran to their girls. Nick dropped all his baggage and ran to Amanda and Savannah. Amanda was hysterical and Nick was on the verge of tears. He held his baby girl who looked the same from the last time he saw her. He was so happy. The tour was done, over with. He could now stay home play with his daughter, be intimate with his wife. This was what he was waiting for. One of the things that ran through Nick’s mind was ‘they were well worth the wait!’
They got into their cars and went home. Savannah was tired so they put her to bed. Nick and Amanda hated messes so they put all of Nick’s stuff in the laundry and went right to their bedroom. Than made love for a while and just lay there in each other’s arms taking advantage of the free time. The baby monitor was right next to them so they could hear Savvy’s every breath. They kissed each other and fell asleep in each other’s arms for a much-needed nap together. Suddenly, they both heard Savannah cry. Nick was so tired that he didn't respond to it. Amanda quickly got out of bed and placed Savannah on Nick's tummy, which woke Nick up. He didn't mind.
"Hey, baby girl," said Nick, bouncing Savannah on his tummy with his hands. Savannah clapped her hands together wildly as she squinted her eyes and giggled.
"She's got your eyes," said Amanda, looking at Nick.
Nick smiled and said, "She's got your beauty." Nick got out of bed and said, "Amanda, honey, I had an idea. You and I haven't gone out alone in a very long time. What do you say you and I go out to lunch tomorrow?"
A smile crept along Amanda's face as she said “Oh Nick, I'd love that! Who do you think will watch Savannah?"
"I don't think Howie would mind," said Nick, while Savannah's hands roamed his face.
"True. I'll call him now and see if he can come here at what? 11:30?” suggested Amanda.
"Yea, that sounds good," replied Nick. Amanda went to the phone in their room and called up Howie.
"Hello?" said Howie on the other end.
"Hey Howie, it's Amanda.
"Oh, hey hun, how are ya?" asked howie, being his sweet self.
"I'm good thanks, you?" asked Amanda, returning that question.
"I'm doing great, thanks for asking," said Howie in response.
"That's good to hear. Hey, Nick and I are going to go out to lunch tomorrow and were wondering if you could come over and watch Savvy for about an hour and a half to two hours; would that be okay with you?" asked Amanda, hoping he would say yes.
"Of course I will," said Howie, happy to help them out.
"Oh Howie, thank you so much," said Amanda.
"No problem. All right so I’ll be over there at 11:25," said Howie.
"Sounds good, thanks again. Buh-bye," said Amanda.
"Bye," responded Howie.
Amanda sat next to Nick on the bed and told him that Howie would be going over there at around 11:30. Nick smiled and thanked her by kissing her. Amanda ran her hand over Savannah's tiny head. Savannah let out a small yawn and leaned her head against her daddy's chest. Nick realized she was asleep and brought her downstairs knowing she would wake up soon since she just had a nap. Amanda followed him down. Sure enough Savannah's eyes fluttered open and looked up at Nick.
"Hey sweetie," cooed Nick. Savannah looked at him and made noises with her little voice. "What are you trying to say sweetie, huh? You trying to tell to me and your mommy something?" said Nick, cradling his daughter.
