Nick went upstairs to put Savvy in her crib. She was very tired from the long day that she had with her grandparents. When he came back down, he sat next to Amanda on the couch.“Honey?” Nick said, looking down at her.
“Yes, sweetie,” answered Amanda.
“Tomorrow at two, I have to go meet up with one of our producers to discuss a few interviews that we may have coming up, okay?” said Nick, lying as to not ruin his surprise for Amanda.
“Okay honey, that’s fine,” said Amanda, believing him.
Nick felt bad about lying to her, but he knew it was worth it. Amanda and Nick just talked and watched TV for the rest of the night. They got up at about ten the next morning. Amanda and Nick went into Savannah’s room as if it being second nature to them. They looked in her crib and saw she wasn’t there. Amanda screamed and looked up at Nick. She grabbed tightly onto his shirt and twisted it in her clenched fist.
“Where the hell is my baby?!” yelled Amanda through gritted teeth.
“Sweetie, I don’t know!” said Nick, equally scared.
Amanda ran down the stairs almost tripping over he own two feet. When she got down, she let out a sigh of relief. She saw Jess sitting on the couch holding Savvy. Nick came up behind Amanda and smacked his hand on his forehead being just as relieved as Amanda. Nick put his arms around Amanda’s waist as they stood on the last stair and watched Jess hold their baby. They knew she was going to be good with kids. Just then, they heard a bang in the kitchen. About a minute later, A.J. came walking out with a bottle of pumped breast milk. He tested it on his wrist and saw the two of them standing on the stairs.
“Well, good morning, “ said A.J., cheerfully handing the bottle to Jess.
“Hey,” said Amanda and Nick in unison. “We got so scared when she wasn’t in her crib,” said Nick.
“Oops, sorry,” said Jess. “We just came over to visit you guys and then we heard Savannah crying and it didn’t seem like anyone was going to get her so A.J. went up and got her,” said Jess.
“Thank you,” said Amanda with a warm smile on her face.
Amanda and Nick went over to Jess and She handed the baby and the bottle to Amanda. “You guys are welcome to stay for breakfast,” said Amanda. Jess and A.J. looked at each other and smiled, happily accepting her offer. “Oh, Jess, lemme see your ring,” said Amanda, handing Savannah to Nick. Jess held out her left hand. Amanda put her hand over her heart when she saw the ring A.J. had gotten her. “Oh my God, Jessica, it’s beautiful!” said Amanda, in an exasperated tone. Jess thanked her and brought her hand back to her side.
“I’ll start breakfast,” said Amanda, walking into the kitchen in her white silk robe. Jess followed Amanda so she could help. They made chocolate-chip pancakes. They set the table and called the guys in. The guys went into the kitchen. Nick put Savannah in her high chair with a toy for her to chew on. They all sat down and ate. When they were done the girls cleaned up while the guys took Savannah into the TV room to watch football. Jason Seahorn made a touchdown and the guys were about to yell when they realized that Savvy was still with them. Jess and Amanda heard the guys’ muffled cheers so Amanda went into the room and took Savvy from Nick so he and A.J. could cheer as loud at they wanted. Time flew by and it was one in the afternoon. A.J. and Jess left as to not overstay their welcome.
“Bye guys. Well, A.J. you and Nick will be seeing each other later anyway, right?” said Amanda.
Nick’s eyes got wide when he saw A.J. get a confused look. Nick smacked him on the back and A.J. said, “Huh? Oh...Oh...Right, yea, I’ll be seeing him later.” With that, Nick shut the door behind them.
