The next morning they ordered breakfast from room service. They fed each other for the fist time as Mr. and Mrs. Carter. They stayed there for one week and than flew home. They finally moved into their new $4.4 million home that was built on 47 acres. Nick had a press conference the very next day and he and really didn't want to go. It was only going to be an hour, but that was one hour that he didn't want to be away from Amanda. He wanted to spend as much time with her as possible."Amanda baby, I have to go now. The van is waiting for me outside," said Nick, not wanting to go.
"All right, baby. When you come home would you like to go out for lunch?" asked Amanda, knowing what his answer was going to be.
"Sure baby. You know I don't want to go to this?" Nick said, looking down.
Amanda said, " I know sweetie, but they know you just got married, can't they give you a break?"
"I know honey, I know. The good thing is that I have the rest of the month off. You and I can do anything we want," Nick said with a hopeful look on his face. Amanda smiled at him reassuringly and gave him a kiss.
Nick left and answered the agonizing questions that the press just had to ask. They wouldn't stop asking questions about Nick's wedding. Nick said that he would pass on some of the questions when they were asked. He really just wanted to keep the wedding between family and friends, not the press and fans. After the conference, Nick went home to Amanda. She was so happy to see him.
"I'm home, baby," said Nick, walking through the front door of their 'mansion.'
"Hey, Nick," Amanda said, walking in from the TV room. Nick gave her a long passionate kiss and picked her up and held her like a baby. "Where would you like to go sweetie?" asked Nick, looking into her big beautiful eyes that now captured every inch of his heart and soul.
"Mmm, how about we go to McDonalds?" suggested Amanda.
"I love it, I love it," said Nick with a big smile on his face. He put her down and they got into his green Durango and went to eat.
Nick was asked to sign a few autographs and he did. Nick and Amanda ate and talked. They mostly talked about their wedding and how it was the perfect day. Everything had gone as planned. Amanda loved how Nick surprised her with having Savage Garden come to sing their wedding song. It was the most beautiful wedding and they both knew it. After they ate they went home.
They were going to go for a walk, but it began to rain heavily. Nick and Amanda sat on the big leather couches they had in the living room and talked about their future.
“I’m still wondering what our kids are going to look like,” said Nick with a pondering look on his face.
“I bet they are going to be the best children that ever walked this earth,” said Amanda.
“Ya know, I bet you’re right,” said Nick smiling.
“When do you think we should start a family?” asked Amanda with a sincere look on her face.
“I don’t see anything wrong with starting within the next month, cause we’ll be on tour in a about a month. So lets say that you’re about one month pregnant by the time we start the tour, than when you’re about seven months along we can take a very much-needed break. We can than finish up the rest of the tour when the baby is approximately two months old. Even if it doesn’t work out that way, everything will fall into place,” said Nick, his eyes never leaving Amanda’s.
She nodded her head and put her head on Nick’s chest. They snuggled on the couch for a little longer. The one-month Nick had off came and went. It was one week before the tour started. Amanda wasn’t feeling well the passed two days and was throwing up in the morning. Nick decided to take her to the doctor. Amanda hated going to the doctor.
“Really Nick, I’m fine. It’s probably just a stomach virus or something. I’ll get over it,” said Amanda, hoping Nick would change his mind about taking her. But Nick was determined to find out what was wrong. He made an appointment with the doctor and they said they could take her fifteen minutes. Nick and Amanda go tin his truck and drove to the doctor’s office. He took them right away. Nick went into the room with her.
“Hello, Amanda” said Dr. Johnson.
“Hi, Dr. Johnson,” replied Amanda. “Well, what seems to be the problem?” asked the doctor.
“She’s being throwing up these past few mornings and her period is late,” answered Nick, knowing Amanda really didn’t want to be there, so she probably wouldn’t have told him the truth.
“We’ll just do a blood test and see what’s going on.” After he took her blood, he sent it to the lab to be tested. The lab was right in the building so they would get the results within an hour.
Nick and Amanda went home and waited for the phone call that had the results. “God, it seems like this phone and taking forever to ring,” said Amanda, no eager to know what the results were. She wanted Nick to answer the phone. She wanted him to know first so she could see his expression and know if it was good or bad.
“I know, baby. They should be calling soon,” replied Nick. As if being able to tell what was going to happen, the phone rang.
