Chapter 3

“Trouble." Linda thought to herself wondering if these guys were on drugs. The tall handsome mandingo, who she now figured out was Kevin, had loosened his death grip on her shoulder and nodded at her to take a seat.

"Hey Nick put up the Nintendo and get in here." Alex said to the blonde who was cursing fluently at the video game.

"In a minute." He replied obviously not as excited about Alex's quest for sexual domination as the others were.

After they were all seated in the room, Alex began to explain himself. "Ok guys," He began

"I’m not a guy!" Linda said trying to piss him off.

"Maybe I wasn’t talking to you." Alex spat back at her slightly annoyed. Linda couldn’t think of anything good to say as a comeback, so she kept quiet and stole a glance at a withdrawn Howie. "Well, like I was saying, I’m tired of touring and having to rely on fans to satisfy my urges if you know what I mean." Alex said as a silly grin spread across his face.

"Ok Alex, that part makes sense. But what if someone comes looking for her?" Brian said. He liked the idea but was still a bit skeptical.

"This could ruin our reputation." Kevin said.

"Now guys would I make any of you look bad? This girl has been homeless since she was 13. And you know what homeless girls do?" He said winking at Linda. "She probably will fit in here like a round peg." Alex said while Brian, Nick and Kevin nodded their heads in agreement.

Linda suddenly felt an anger she had never experienced before. She began uttering words to Alex under her breath that would have made the devil blush. Howie on the other hand, had not said a word since he lost his argument earlier. He was suddenly thinking of ways to help Linda out of this situation.

"Now like I was saying, I figure she lives here with us. We drag her on tour and everyone can perform lighter on their feet if you catch my drift." Alex said.

"I like the idea." Nick said suddenly very interested in this whole crazy scheme. Alex's solid confidence in the whole idea seemed to have won all but one of the guys’ trust. Linda, on the other hand, wondered how any person with a heart could do this. She also couldn’t get over how they could talk about her like she wasn't there. She felt a tear form in her eye but quickly wiped it away for fear that someone would see her moment of weakness.

Howie stared at Linda intently and noticed a tear that she wiped away. He wasn’t going to bring it to anyone’s attention. He felt so bad for her that he had trouble holding back his own tears.
