Part V

AJ huddled in the corner shaking violently. Vicki was sprawled across the bed and she wasn't breathing. "What did I do?" he asked himself out loud. AJ felt paralyzed. What was he going to do now? He couldn't leave her just lying there on the bed. He did the only thing that seemed logical.

"What the hell is it J?" Tom spat obviously not too pleased with the early morning interruption.

"I need your help Tommy," AJ began. He stopped to gather some air. He felt like he couldn't breath. "Um, this girl, she…she isn't breathing." He finished. He could almost hear Tom's brain working frantically.

"Where is she?" Tom asked. AJ could tell that he had lit a cigarette. "She's on the bed." AJ said, unable to hide his fear anymore. He was starting to break down.

"Should I just dump her?" AJ asked in a panic. How much like a little boy he seemed.

"NO!" Tom yelled. "I will help you, but if I do, you either fire me or stop doing this." Tom finished in his "no nonsense" voice. "Are we clear?" he asked.

"Yes." AJ choked out.

"Good," Tom began. "Now listen to me carefully. I am going to send somebody over who can help. Do not let anybody in; don't even move until he gets there. His name is Troy." He finished.

"Ok." AJ said. Every time he glanced over to the bed he felt nauseous. "Just hurry." He said then hung up. He put his head between his knee's to stop the dizziness. After awhile there was a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" AJ asked cautiously.

"Troy." A man whispered.

AJ rushed to the door and opened it. A middle age man with just an odd looking patch of hair stood before him. He had a large housekeeping cart with him. He didn't say anything; he just waltzed inside and shut the door quietly behind him. AJ couldn't watch as he stuffed Vicki's stiff body into the cart.

"$200,000, nothing less." The man said. AJ quickly grabbed his checkbook. Troy looked skeptical at first.

"I'm filthy rich, don't worry about the check." AJ said reading his mind. Troy took the check and left the room with his cart. AJ never heard from him again.

* 5 Years Later *

AJ sat up quickly. He'd had another nightmare. He'd never had a good night's sleep since Vicki's ill-fated night. He heard something in yet another hotel bathroom. He got up to investigate. There was a female sitting on the toilet. "Who the hell are you?" AJ asked wondering how she got in. The woman lifted her head. She was horrifyingly ugly. She looked like she had been beaten badly. AJ gasped, "Bridget." Bridget smiled. Some of her teeth were chipped.

"Am I ugly to you now? Do you see what you did to me?" Bridget yelled. She had a gun in her hand that AJ had just noticed. She wasn't steady with it and it was shaking violently in her hand.

"You not going to shoot me." AJ stated cockily.

Yes I am." Bridget said before pulling the trigger. AJ fell to the floor in shock. Bridget was standing over him now. "Look at me." She commanded. AJ lifted his head with much effort. He was much more concerned with the blood pouring out of his chest. If he knew that her battered and destroyed face would have been the last thing he would have seen...he would have looked at something else.
