MTV TRL 3/21/00

They first showed the guys in makeup acting all crazy. Then they showed the guys sitting in the audience and they came out from the audience…that was pretty cool! Carson asked them if they did anything special today since their album was finally released and Joey said when he woke up he just said, “Holy-boop. I can’t believe it.” For the one NSYNC fan who didn’t see it yet, I’m not censoring Joey, he really said “Boop.” How considerate of Joey to censor himself…hahaha! Carson asked if there was one thing they wanted the listeners to get out of the album what would it be and JC said he hopes they have fun with the music. They all looked good even Joey…hahaha! Okay, that jacket needed a little help but it’s better than what he’s been wearing!

Okay the guys were talking about the Johnny Kemp cover song, “Just Got Paid” and they were like, New Jack Swing, and Carson was like, “I have one thing to say, ‘word’” and the rest of the guys started laughing. Okay I so don’t get it but whatever. And what’s up with the “WWAAAZZZUUPP?” They kept saying that throughout the whole thing. What a bunch of dorks!

During Destiny’s Child video they did a little dedication thing as No Refund. They were cute.

Carson did another phone thing and called this girl who was recently dumped by her fiancé and had NSYNC say “Hi.” The guys were really sweet and sang her a song. When she came on she didn’t scream and the guys were like okay. I wonder if they like having girls scream at them. I probably would have been more like that girl and not scream. I mean, yeah she was talking to NSYNC and she got serenaded by the boys but the whole nation knows she got dumped at the alter, so if that was me I would be like, “Okay I’m gonna kill my friend!” Justin looked cute saying, “We are here to bring you comic relief.” They sang “This I Promise You” a capella to her and Justin was really sweet telling her not to worry about that guy. Justin was like, “He’s a scrub.”

During “The Thong Song” Carson took them backstage to meet five of fans from the Tri-State area who were visited by Dave Holmes the night before and given NSA CDs before they were released. Justin was cute saying, “Now that’s a video,” when they played “The Thong Song.” The fans were really cute. You could tell they were so in shock. They got to talk with the guys and hang out for a little while, which I think was really sweet of MTV. The guys asked which song they liked the best and they said all and I think it was Joey who said pick one and they all pretty much said “TIPY.” I love that song! Now I just have to imagine JC singing the song when I hear it and it makes me wanna cry.

They talked about their tour and what’s up for NSYNC and the guys said that they will be rehearsing all of April and the tour kicks off on May 9th in Biloxi, MS. Justin was like we had to start the tour in Lance’s home state or he wouldn’t do the tour. They did mention that the tickets would be going on sale March 25th and they were hoping to get Destiny’s Child on the bill for opening acts. Okay, I just wanna thank JC right now for being with me in spirit and allowing me to get pretty decent seats for their show! Hahaha! They gave wristbands and I had #22 (JC’s number) and they number that was called was #21…so I was second in line! YAY! I think we got decent seats considering the show is at the Rose Bowl!

Carson brought up two girls who had been crying during the whole show to stand by NSYNC. Justin said, “Carson you’re a meanie.” Hehehe…I’m sure the girls weren’t complaining, but I really don’t think I’d want to be the girl who got to stand near NSYNC because I was crying for an hour straight…that’s just nutz! Joey said, “There’s no crying on TRL.” That’s pretty messed up…I give them so much credit. I wouldn’t know what to do if I saw this girl crying right in front of me like that. I guess they are just used to it now.

NSYNC was #1 (right where they belong), and they showed the NSYNC LIVE performance. At the end they had the guys give the audience members copies of NSA…that was sweet. They showed JC giving a hug to one of the girls and it looked like she wouldn’t let go…that was kinda funny. I’m surprised JC still gives hugs…LOL. Right before they ended the show you could see JC giving another audience member a hug…he’s such a sweetie.
